I applyed some....******ed ics metamorph theme and it just f'd up my phone. Im on MTDEV-CM7 12-28. Could someone make a metamorph of the original that i can apply? Thanks in advance.

Well first thing is first you are going to have to do a wipe of the ROM thru the recovery.Second if you want an ICS theme for CM7 then MTDEV has a zip file that you can download that makes CM7 look like ICS.I'll give you the link

http://dl.mtdev.us/CM7/MTDEV-Ultimate-ICS-20120831.apk

there's the link to the download.

Thanks, but i already have that theme downloaded and i decided not to do ics anymore. It made me mad because i didnt want to wipe but it themed the lockscreen so everything is holo. But if wipings the only way....:(

Most likely if you can't get into the phone to fix the issue. You can wait to see if you get another answer back. But I think that if you can't fix it from the phone then yeah you will have to wipe. You can try a davik cache wipe first to see. That will keep your apps and what not.

But metamorph changes the framework. A DC wipe wouldnt affect that , would it?

That is correct. Just re-flash the same ROM... No need to wipe anything, and you'll be good.

May want to check out zipthemer. It saves your old stuff when you install a metamorph theme.

Alternatively, you could always just restore the Nandroid backup you made before installing the metamorph theme.

;)

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Man, thangfish....lol. you always go in to topics at the right time and cheer everybody up. :p Do i need to wipe sys or cache first or just boot to recovery and reflash rom and gapps?
EDIT: Got it fixed. Everythings fixed and updated to newest version of CM7. Thanks for the help everybody.

Glad you got it fixed, but to answer your questions for future reference or whatever:

No need to wipe anything just to get your framework and colors and what-not back to normal. Just flash the ROM. No wipe means that you won't have to reinstall gapps or anything else.

Thanks man. And I have just a quick question. It doesnt have to do with this but i dont see a need to make a brand new topic about it. In ROM development, do you know how to get a black status bar? Is there a system apk or do you have to recolor manually?

Sorry, no clue.
I like black myself though, and that's what cm7 has.
Seems like I read once that the status bar color is defined in xml if that helps any. Wouldn't swear to it though.

Yeah, i cant deal with white status bars...damn Froyo! But Ive been getting into development this past year and i have a lot to learn. Ill have to figure it out. It would be in Framework.apk though right?

Are you building the ROM at home? If so I could point you to the right place if I can find it again,

Take a look at the Sharp ROM, I think I made the change in ver7. I can't remember exactly where it is but I believe it is in framework-res . All of the previous versions are in the notes section of the first post. So you can pull down ver6 or earlier to compare to ver7 or ver8. Also there may still be a GB theme zip in the second post that only consists of what needs to be changed. If you change to black you will have to change the text color also, which is some where else in the framework. I won't have access to my computer for a few more days, so this is about as much help as I can be right now. There is also a fix for the date when you pull down the notification bar in the last few pages I posted before ver8 was done. Hope this helps.

Okay, ill check for it. Thanks for the help.

Just so you know, I did all the work on Sharp and U9000 on windows 7 x64. The only thing I used Linux for was building the kernel. So unless you plan on building from source code you could do everything you need to in windows. Just figured I'd throw that out there.

You think you could tell me how or link me to a tut? I cant get ubuntu to come up on my tv(dont usually use my actual laptop screen). And dont feel like unplugging everything. But if you did it on windows 7 x64 then i could do it on my windows 8 x64 instead of ubuntu.

I guess that would depend on whether you are porting or building. I can help you build. I haven't ported anything, just hacked a couple of apps.

Well i was going to build a rom probably. Like i mentioned in an earlier post, ive built roms for another phone, and i have the programs for editing. Its just all on windows. And im hoping i can use windows to do all this. I do have experience with ubuntu but not much farther than the terminal.

You think that you could make a red cm7 rom I would love that

I could certainly try. Ill have to put the rom on my computer. Ill try to do it when I get home.
EDIT: What would you like to see red? Do you mean instead of all the system colors green, they be red?
