Root P.A.C.MAN Update

I've turned off pie since it got implemented and it fixed the unresponsive touchscreen issues I was having.

system settings>toolbars>trigger area>none

That will disable pie.

I'm not sure what the big deal about pie is? You can tap the hardware button far faster than you can swipe out the pie menu to select it... I don't get it

With the LMT launcher, you can replace those five buttons: Back, Home, Menu, Recents, and Search with any app you like

There's aso a second tier to let you add 5 more apps of your choosing if you long press each of the first 5. There's also a level 2 that let you do the same, so you can have up to 20 different apps, or system functions using the LMT launcher.

And you can bring up the menu anywhere. it doesn't have to be on the home screen.

So say you're browsing and you wanna open Pandora, just hold the left side of the screen and it brings up the PIE control and you can open pandora app right in the browser.

LMT will definitely improve your phone's functionality.

With the built-in Pie Control, I can't say if there's options to change those 5 default keys to apps. I haven't messed with it.

I have used apps like pie, and similar to the launcher you mentioned. That makes sense to me. I can understand that completely.

Pie however seems to just simulate the home, back, menu and search buttons. I just don't see the need when the physical buttons are easier to access.

Yes sir. 100% agree....

Pie itself could be good if like LMT you could change short cuts. But thats about it. In my mind anyway.

I've been on the newest P.A.C.man rom for about 2 days and after the mms fix, I don't really see anything wrong other than the notification bar says sprint. Am I missing something else?

Also, what does this rom really have for advantages over AngryBean, or MidnightRom10.1 other than tablet UIs?

It melds the features of CM 10.1, AOKP and ParanoidAndroid together whereas the other ROM's you mentioned are pure CM 10.1. If you flash the ROM and look at the system settings it's amazing how many options there are.

Has anyone noticed that this ROM uses up your battery pretty fast?

I had this ROM flashed today.. And while I was at work my EXTENDED battery went from 99% to 80% in 8 hours, While any other ROM like MobsterRom It will drop maybe 5% tops, Over the 8 hours.(99%-94%) I cannot use my phone at work, So these 8 hours are all idle hours.

I have the same settings across each ROM, Such as auto-brightness and such. I always turn off my wifi too when I go to work, Since there isnt any there.

This is a very great rom..i just dont like how the Tablet ui looks like...n the settings... so how do i make it look like a phone lol?

Check the thread on XDA. Someone mentioned a way to change the hybrid mode settings to disable tablet mode but I can't remember exactly what it was and don't have this ROM installed ATM. Search for "hybrid" in the thread and you should be able to find it.

Hmm. Cant seem to get Wifi Tether to work on this ROM. In the log, the errors are "Configuring AP : Failed" and "Starting AP : Failed"

Any idea what is wrong? I have it set just like I would in any other ROM. I have tried to change the device profile also.

I can no longer wait. gonna flash the 3d cdma version. Then do the MMS fix by flashing the cm10.1mms fix right? Anything else I would have to fix?

I kinda like having it say "Sprint" instead of Virgin Mobile on the lockscreen lol

I think you would have to but the two lines in your build prop too.
