Actually, I would imagine his degree enabled him to see the blindingly obvious, and I mean that as no slur. Sometimes the obvious isn't apparent. But Verizon is trying to a) differentiate the Android phones from the rest of their line and b) create a more recognizable, marketable brand within the store; by using the term "Droid" and applying it to any Android phone, they have now unified a series of devices from disparate manufacturers under a single brand umbrella. It's simple, perhaps cheesy, but for those who - unlike us :p - don't spend their time ogling singular phones, it will help. In other words, they're marketing/advertising the Droid brand. Hence, the advertising degree was applicable.
 
I don't know if this will help anyone who did not get the chance to put their e-mail in on the notification page for the Android Incredible (Coming Soon) or the Android Incredible (April 29th), but this is the link that was sent to one of my e-mails.

My suggestion would be to complete the form and wait and see what happens. It a form to request to newly release phones and accessories be e-mailed and text to the information that you put in to the form.

Everyone has been so helpful to me I hope this helps someone else!!!

so then we are all thinking that Best Buy and Verizon corporate stores will be getting the Incredible on the same day ya? Any new news on pre-orders from Best Buy?
 
dumb question but can you run apps like handcent sms and apps like that with sense? also does it have a pull down notification bar like the nexus one? i'm getting the incredible by the screw the nexus one on verizon.

It wasn't official - it was a testing site for an impending release that they will make live once VZW made the announcement. Through some shenanigans the URL was made known to us. Once the bright minds at VZW figured out what was going on (30 minutes later :-P), they closed it to stop people from overloading a test server with so many connections.

Yes of course, you can use any app that's available on the marketplace and all Android OS phones have the pull down notification bar.

Now thats funny..i can just see all the office guys shitting there pants! I have it on my office computer and I keep thinking the IT gestapo is gonna come in and shut me down so I can relate lol
