Thanks for the maintenance TS, even though it's your job, it must be rough. I don't think I could handle doing that.

It's nice to see that 4G and the launch of the EVO will create more jobs from Sprint. Now if only they were hiring in Florida! :D

Someone else mentioned about buying from Radio Shack seeming like buying from a mall kiosk and I completely agree. Has anyone actually bought a new phone from RS? How was the experience? Do they do instant rebates or anything of the sort?

It also seems highly unlikely that RS would get a leg up over Best Buy in early sales, if anything I would imagine the sales would start at the same time.
 
Does anyone think these new hires are going to be given any new info? Honestly I think anyone on this board could do a better job selling the EVO than these people, and I don't see them being trusted with anything juicy.

Got my wife's PRE there and it was simple. I called in they held it for me and I was out the door in 15 min with instant rebates! And I didn't have to wait for a free agent like I often do at my local sprint store. If you don't need hand holding I think RS is a good way to go. They are often overlooked so it's a good place to find scarce phones.
 
They take whatever rebate you would have gotten and give you an instant rebate, they never ask you to fill out paperwork and what not I guess it saves time for them too. They do their paperwork and get the money back whenever. The only small downside to RS is they usually don't have many new phones in stock, one store maybe get 1 or maybe 2 if it's a popular store but as soon as those are gone you'll have to wait a while before they get more in, they usually keep a extremely limited stock especially on expensive phones.

When I was first shopping for a new phone, I stopped by a nearby RS (I was looking for a replacement battery for my current phone). I was looking at the Hero and the Moment. Not only were they offering instant rebates, but they were having a sale or something for new lines that made the phone cheaper than BB or Sprint stores. It was something like $69.99+taxes and fees for either. I almost started a new line and dropped my current one, but then I started reading the forums and found out about the EVO (Supersonic at the time)

I think if you don't need anything special from a customer service rep, it's probably a pretty good option. But at BB I can use my rewards card so it's kind of a toss up.:rolleyes:
 
As the Evo draws closer I'll be doin some work on these forum - you can believe that. If I don't get 1500 posts a month leading up to release I'd be shocked lol..

ha. We've had a few 3000th posts already. Someone keeps makin' it and TS keeps knockin' em out. But he's doing a good job tidying things up around here..

And of note, the main Incredible thread is about to hit 36,000. We're not working hard enough over here.

Or should be make that the theme? EVO... "we work smarter, not harder"

I'm really intrigued what Friday will bring. The more I think about it the more I wonder if nothing significant will happen on Friday.

Jackson sounded hesitant last time he mentioned it. His source may have gotten the April 16th date before and then Sprint bumped it back.
 
I think the full specs and price will be announced on friday, and it will be available immediately the next day on saturday. Remember, someone overheard a sprint employee talking about the 17th, and a saturday release makes more sense than a weekday which the 17th is in may and june... Plus there were all those units in an inventory system! I'm way overly optimistic, just because this wait is harder than I thought it would be and I'm tired of it.

Yeah, I know.. I was referring to Jackson saying that April 16 might not mean anything anymore. I simply meant there are still some things pointing that Fri might still have some stuff in store! Sorry if that wasn't made clear, my fault.

Actually, to clarify further, I don't think Jackson ever said that April 16 might not mean anything anymore. That was Self Praise.

Jackson said that he was confused by this and was emailing his source to find out what is going on and if anything changed.

Ahh right, ok. Well needless to say, I think (opinion of course) that Fri will hold some goodies for us.
 
Just give us a date. A ballpark estimate. Something better than "Summer 2010". Like... May. or the third week of May. or the second day of the third week of May (the 17th) at midnight. That would work.

The email specifically says "RELEASE date on 16th" !!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
yep. and jackson, if you dont mind telling us, do you know specifically what type of information will be released? and it will be commercials and ads right?
