Root 64gb micro sd???

Will this work in the evo 4g? I have a 64 in right now and I am doing a format/partition but it has been for matting for 2 hours I keep getting new dots so it isn't frozen just wondering if 64 is toooo much for the lil guy
 
You saying you formatting in phone and it taken 2hours .:eek: nahhh is this a class 10 or what kind of card. Please tell me that you only formatted in the evo . If its the first time that high will take you to about 61gb . But only do it in the phone first .
 
Yea it's a fresh card off ebay. I'm formatting with the evo it wasn't a class ten I don't believe. I think it's class 6 but I'm not certain it's in the phone now don't want to take it out unless someone tells me too. Just a lil gun shy.
 
Nahh u good just plug up but don't format on a pc or laptop it may be slow but a life savor in the end . I have to find out if u can format on the pc when it is time to clean but i sold it .
 
yeah from what i remember the og evo has no problems with 32g cards, but 64g is a bit of a stretch. technically it is a sdxc card which at the time i remember the evo could only use sdhc technology. now this is going back to froyo days so maybe with gingerbread, the phone might have been updated to use sdxc, but i'm not 100% positive.

if anything i would use the phone to format it.
 
I need to partition the sd card to format correct? I am using the recovery screen and partitioning well attempting that is right correct?
 
If you are formatting in recovery, you can partition it at the same time. In the process of partitioning, you'll format it at the same time.

Edit: crap..ninj'd yet again...being red didn't change that fact :(
 
Ok then here we go ill give it no more than 20 minutes then ima trying mikes way unless anyone has a better thought.

On a side note I bought a DINC droid incredible today left the Casio comando on the roof of the car it did not survive these I behind me. Now I'm 100%htc in my house
 
ok back to this project there are two formatting tools on that web site version 3 and 4 were you sending me to the 3 for a reason or should i go with the more recent update?

Yes! This tool has saved me several times. Don't mean to go off topic but I had issues after repartitioning an sd back to a single partition and this program was finally what brought my headache to an end. My point is.. I second this! :D
