That is the point :) Not an issue of the features being in the device, but not mentioning the features in the launch presser is a no-no. People that are getting the mention of 8gb is AFTER already sending an email request of interest. Verizon needs to also mention this BEFORE people bite- in order to get even more people to bite and email interest :)

One of you people needs to be Verizon's marketing advisor to get this stuff correct and complete. I can't, since still with Tmo for a few weeks (conflict of interest) ;)

In Verizon's defense, looks like HTC released this- not Verizon (even worse, since they built it).

Thanks - but where will be delivered? And why wait for FedEx if it's to your house? I'll leave work at lunch and buy it at the vzw store.

...dancing around my office annoying my coworkers ....

...So does this mean for people on PST that we can go online at 12am EST on the 19th and pre-order??? How does all that work? Maybe it won't make a difference?

"Verizon Wireless today took the wraps off the long-rumored HTC Droid Incredible, the newest phone in the carrier's Android lineup. The Droid Incredible will be available online from April 19, and in stores from April 29. The new device will cost $300 with a contract, and a $100 mail-in rebate, which comes as a debit card, is available. From what folks (inc. BB employees) yes, they can do NE2 upgrades but NOT annual pricing upgrades.

That might be referring to NE2 upgrade. You might be eligible for a annual upgrade or a "smartphone" upgrade. They seem to be offering some special upgrades (like $50 off) anyone who goes from a featurephone to a smartphone but you'll have to visit a store or call in for more info.

I've heard that they're fairly motivated to get people to upgrade to smartphones w/data plans.

OK, so this is what I understand on the NE2 discounts. The primary line has to have a plan of 69.99 or higher (and the line has to be in existence prior to the changes made in Feb.) to get the $100 discount. Now, the fine print. It has to be a PLAN of 69.99 or higher (not including the 9.99 line for an additional family member, not an additional texting plan or data plan). In my case, I'm the primary line and I SHOULD'VE had $100 NE2 but when I called, they said that they changed that to $50/$30 like a year ago (this was a senior supervisor!) and I was alreadygetting the higher discount. I explained to her that those changes were actually made in February not a year ago and that when I last upgraded the pricing was indeed $100/50 for the NE2. Moreover, I said that the CSR told me at that time that my bill had to be more than $69.99 and didn't say that text, data, etc didn't count. I also talked to her about how the online billing didn't actually break that down and that MY LINE was showing over $94/mo which should definitely qualify me for the $100 NE2. So she researched and such and found that when I upgraded it was in fact $100/50 and gave me "since you're a long time customer" line and said that she could make an exception and once I upgraded my phone, they would take an additional $50 off. I told her I was planning on upgrading to the Inc and she made no effort to deny it. She said that they simply don't keep them in the loop on exactly when it will release or pricing...that a lot of her information comes from us customers. But she obviously knew about the phone etc. So, pretty much a happy ending. I hope that helps clarify for folks but I'm afraid it might muddy it even more.

The senior manager sounded very unsure and said she thought maybe they mailed them on release day but I could tell it was a guess. I thought folks said that you receive them on release day. Hey, that's how it works on DVD's, CD's and Books, right? You preorder to receive them ON release day. Hoping for the same here. :)

REPOST Question: I've never ordered a new phone on first day of release before. Is the first batch of devices usually buggy and have issues? If so, is it best to wait for a second batch of devices? I'm comparing it to the likes of video game consoles. :/

Yes. The issue will be if your router is dual band for g/n. If your devices are set to one band on a router that is g or n (not same time) only one band can be used at a time, so most cases, G will be used (N is least common ATM for most devices at the moment).

Types of newer routers:

1. G
2. G/N (one at a time)
3. G/N dual band (more expensive, but worth it)
