Root How to install CyanogenMod 7.2 - Huawei Fusion 2

Hmmm. Try a reboot of the computer and see if that makes a difference. Because if you were able to root, then it did have access to the device...

Would like to see what shagerty thinks?

I believe I do have them installed. When I rooted it this morning it had me install some kind of driver program that would never run, so I'm not exactly sure though. And I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit.

EDIT: I probably don't, since while following the steps in the OP I wiped all my data. I can't find the page that had the download link for the drivers.

Here is my dropbox link for the adb drivers. Sorry it's not zipped.

And for the handset, this is the file that comes with the phone:

When it's booted normally, yes. If it's booted in CWM, no. Also, how do I know if the drivers installed? Nothing comes up after the Handset WinDriver is installed.

And rebooting the PC didn't do anything.

The Android OS? Yeah, it boots and wants me to set it up, just like it did when I got it out of the box.

It has been a while since I've installed it, but from what I remember, after the initial windows confirmation(tray notification popup for Win7 32) Nothing pops up, it just does its thing in the background.

I did get the zip on the internal card, it's in the main folder of the usb storage.

If you're talking about the SIM card, then yes, it reads it. I don't have an SD card.

Here's what shows up, in order:

- choose zip from sdcard
- apply /sdcard/update.zip
- toggle signature verification
- +++++Go Back+++++

When I choose the first one, it says:

E:Can't mount /sdcard/

I just checked for you... You need an actual SD card. Or someone can *maybe* add it in a new CWM build.

Darn... you can't use internal memory at all? I really don't wanna have to go out and spend $10+ on an sd card, only to use it once. Does it have to be a micro sd?

EDIT: What about sideload? That doesn't need an sd card, does it?

If it can't read the SDcard, I don't think sideload will work. But you can try.

I don't know why we can't use internal storage on this version of CWM. Someone's going to have to explain.

Yeah... it doesn't work. adb install does nothing, adb push, nothing, adb sideload, nothing. I'm extremely disappointed, I was looking forward to this... well, thanks for your guys' help. Keep me posted on any CWM updates.

EDIT: It says in the OP (Step 5) to copy the zip file to external or internal memory. Since internal memory doesn't work, it should probably be removed from that step.

I tried using ROM Manager without the SD, and that requires it as well.

I could be wrong, but I believe you need the files to be on the SD card because when you chose to install the new ROM, the entire internal memory has to be wiped, and replaced with the new ROMs files. If the replacement ROM was located on the internal memory, and the internal memory was wiped, you'd most likely be left with a bricked phone.

IMO, I believe you would find a $10(cheaper on Amazon) SD incredibly beneficial. It is great to have to load ROMs, but I also find a few of my apps don't function properly, and 2 don't work at all without a SD card. You can get by with a 2GB, but depending on what you do with your phone, you may want to grab an 8GB. I believe they are 12 bucks in the camera memory section of Walmart.

I do hope you can load the ROM soon, it makes this phone SO much better.:)

Get an SD card. Honestly of your flashing ROMs you should already have one. This phone has an internal storage that is very small. Its not CWM its what ZeRoseDev said the ROM is flashing to the internal. You can't store anything to the internal during flashing procedure. All you need is a 1gb card(I don't think they make them that small anymore) probably going to find 4gb is the smallest. They are $10 MAX.
