on page 25, I see this....Installing a microSD (8GB pre‐installed)...hmmm...does this mean it comes with an 8gb microsd card? or is this just another mistype and they are talking about the 8gig of internal memory? just caught my eye

No, it's just general info on installing a card.

There will be no 8gb microSD included with the phone.

I'm still hoping to be able to enable USB Host support so I can use a USB to Serial converter to configure switches and routers without having to drag around my laptop.

"Visual Voice Mail -
Visual Voice Mail allows the management of voice mail directly from the
device rather than accessing your voice mail via traditional methods."

This is listed under the features and advantages page. Do you have to pay VZW a fee to use this or is it included in the phone like the iPhone???
The phone is just VVM ready. If memory serves, Verizon charges $2.99 for that feature.

Or you could just get Google Voice and use their version for free.

NKT, Viperboy, et al "Google Over The Air Updates? Please investigate & report. Does this mean not having to wait for HTC or Verizon for OS upgrades? If so, this is big.

Bummer - its free with ATT. I would love to use Google Voice but can't get an invite:( Been hunting for one here for a month:(

Is this really a point of concern? I could be wrong, but isn't 802.11g is 54mbit/s? That translates into almost 7 megabytes/second transfer rate. Would you really need more than that on your phone?
There a non-speed advantages to 802.11n as well - greater range, lower power consumption.

That being said, I don't think this will affect me all too much.

yeah I didn't think so, just wierd that they specifically write the 8gb pre-installed. no biggie for me anyway, my old phone has an 8GB class 6 I can swap over.

OMG, I LOVE VERIZON. So I was a little worried today, my wife isn't eligible for a discount until July, and that would be her annual upgrade, her NE2 isn't until February 2011, and I already upgraded so I am not eligible.

I talked with several reps today and no one would help me out, all I wanted was to see if someone would help her get a annual upgrade early, just by a few months. After talking to a new manager, I finally got somewhere.

He not only was willing to help, but he ended up giving her the NE2 upgrade with the extra 30 dollars on top. He told me it was in effect starting now, sure enough when I look at her account online there it is. What an AWESOME MANAGER!! Now I will be able to get the Incredible without having to pay the full 599!!!!

So the moral of this story is, stay calm and collected, treat the reps with respect, and do some praying and you might actually get what you want.

EDIT: Looks like this was my 200th post too, yay!!!

MULTITOUCH QUESTION: What are the chances that the keyboard will have true multitouch? (In other words, I press down a letter with one finger, leave my finger on that letter, and with a different finger start pushing different letters: if it's like the Droid, it'll just repeatedly type the 1st letter that I have left my finger on. In other words: will the keyboard work the same way the iGag's keyboard does?)

Please please please say it has true multitouch! Also, please don't tell me about Swype or some alternative; I already know they exist.

If this has already been answered, I apologize: I've been trying to keep up on this thread, but I am bound to miss some stuff.

Thanks.

This might be a scam, but here it goes...

Currently I have a Dare with the insurance. Can I call up Verizon and report my phone as lost. Then wait till the new one comes in the mail and the INC comes out. Then buy the INC and sell both Dares on ebay?

Sorry if I sound ignorant, I just don't know how it works?

Sure, if you wanna catch hell when the buyer realizes that you sold them a phone that they can't activate..
