Thanks a ton jmar! Will finally get around to doing all of this tonight. EDIT: One follow-up question: The instructions in the JDX thread mention flashing the new bootloader and radios BEFORE wiping to flash the ROM. Why is this?Happy flashing ol' pal!

Great new Black Belt Kid, a big old fist pump from me.

Grr, got another gray hair tonight (more like 10) Mother-in-law got rear ended with my two oldest In the car. Called my wife, and all I heard was "WHAT!? Shawn, call 911, my mom was in an accident in front of the neighborhood." ran to the car while dialing, worried to death. Thankfully was pretty minor, and the kids are fine.

So glad to hear that brother. Wishing you all the best. Been praying for you. Godspeed on your recovery brother.well guys the big day is here all the prayers and nerves lead up to the sugery today and I am happy to say that it has not spread and is all has been removed and its time to start the real recoverygood Monday today

Since you are already running Jelly Bean, you can do it before or after. Either way, I would do the bootloader and radios in a separate session from nandroid, wipe, flashing ROM, GApps etc...Thanks a ton jmar! Will finally get around to doing all of this tonight. And best wishes to you bbk, hope your recovery is swift.
People tend to do this by installing non-Google branded apps one by one until the culprit appears. It can be an pain if you have lots of apps. Good luck sir.A few more observations: in the week since erasing everything and running bare bones, my idle battery life has improved significantly and to my knowledge I have had no random reboots. This suggests to me that I could have had an app that was unstable, rather than the ROM being the problem. Or perhaps it merely exacerbated the issues with my ROM? Anyway, how would I go about trying to find which app was problematic? TIA for any ideas.
Thank God! Glad everyone is okay!Grr, got another gray hair tonight (more like 10) Mother-in-law got rear ended with my two oldest In the car. Called my wife, and all I heard was "WHAT!? Thanks again jmar, you're really saving my bacon here. Off to give it a try!Since you are already running Jelly Bean, you can do it before or after. Either way, I would do the bootloader and radios in a separate session from nandroid, wipe, flashing ROM, GApps etc...

It is my job to either save or steal bacon. In either scenario I am the winner! :vroam: *steals all remaining bacon in the GNWH*Thanks again jmar, you're really saving my bacon here. Off to give it a try!
By the way:
I think Cooper is done with naps, most days anyway. Doing good with no bottle and sleeping through the night. Thank God!
I'll ask my son. :vroam:Why is it that I find I can't sleep through the night and want a nap during the day? And a bottle (of beer).

Can you give more info? Are you getting data without WiFi on? You should receive texts regardless if data is working.Argh. I've got two-step verification set up on my account; I'm trying to sign in after my flash, and it says it wants to send me a text so I can sign in, but I can't get the text!
Someone did not think this through properly.
Yeah I was getting data. Perhaps I just didn't wait long enough. In any case, I just turned it off, re-signed in, then turned it back on.Can you give more info? Are you getting data without WiFi on? You should receive texts regardless if data is working.
And? Are you in? Two step verification go as planned?Yeah I was getting data. Perhaps I just didn't wait long enough. In any case, I just turned it off, re-signed in, then turned it back on.
Yeah, seems to be working smoothly. Getting my apps back will be a hassle unfortunately, as I didn't have any current backups when my phone freaked out and had to be wiped last week. And? Are you in? Two step verification go as planned?
