I had a veggie omelette and a bean and cheese burrito today. Spaghetti (yes there is meat in it! *briefly glares at klin but looks away quickly in fear*) for dinner.

Starting tomorrow, no cigarettes. This getting in shape sucks. But it doesn't...but it really does.

Sounds great, Jmar. Stick with it!
I quit last fall. Have the random craving but know it's not going to help anything. Also feel like the healthier the food, the more time you spend eating it, the more satisfied and happy you'll be. :D

Margaret Thatcher aka the Iron Lady, once UK prime minister for 11.5 years, passed away. A feminist hater; that was poison for society.
When she visited Nelson Mandela in South Africa, she was introduced to Winnie Mandela. Winnie told her proudly she herself was called Iron Lady in South Africa. Mrs. Thatcher: "And what exactly do you iron..?"

Thatcher was the "thing" who called Nelson Mandela a TERRORIST! the "thing" who experimented with her right-wing ideas in my country. Who helped destroy the British isles' economy, terrorised other nations, stated that she could "live with two or three million unemployed in the UK" if it made the rich richer....
Id always thought id sing and dance when that monster died but i surprised myself. Ive been more dignified than that. To me, its just another one of those very intelligent, surgicly logical, misguided minds (like hitler) GONE, rotting away. Nothing more or less.

Morning all. Dreams of weather last night :D

I have started to become limited with my tablets. Storm season is here and while my Note 2 does a pretty good job, it is awkward to be switching between the radar / twitter / maps which are my three main tools. Then adding phone calls to the mix, yeah, it can be done. But sometimes a supplemental would be handy. Even while I am at work, I get the larger screen which is useful for radar as well as higher resolution.

There have been times I have taken my nexus 7 to work with me only for it to sit around all day because it is wifi only. Yeah, there is a wifi spot at work but I need to sign in every time the connection breaks and often I am greeted to a bug report mailer at the end of the day.

I could just turn the radios off or set to airplane mode.

But, I am starting to find that wifi only tablets are VERY limiting for me.

This causes a bit of an issue:
There are very few 4g tablets out there and for some reason Verizon gets most of the newer ones first. Well, I am through with Verizon and their very slow 3g service.

Anyway, I am kind of stuck.
I need: GPS, At least HSPA+ (AT&T) 7-8" pocketable decent resolution tablet. This leaves a few options:
Nexus 7 HSPA+ but mine is becoming sluggish again. And I already have one.
iPad mini but the cost is steep and operating the thing is completely backwards, but may be able to learn it.

it may be nice to pull images from camera for quick tweaks and uploads, which, sadly iOS has that built in. The nexus 7 requires some hacking. AT&T has a 10" galaxy tab, which is out dated, and I got a note 10.1, the card reader will work on that.

once again, I am the odd man out for what I want to do.

New tablets are sure to hit the market soon, but as I said, storm season is here now...

Why not just use the note as wifi hotspot mate? Thats what id do if i could have a N7
Is it an android app u use for radar?
P.s, id wait for the next nexus tablet (when is the next Google event?)... i can see them bringin out a better 7" ;)

I could, but one more thing to mess around with and the battery drain, range, etc. I would prefere to keep things independent. With a 4g tablet I could just turn the radios off until I need them which would save battery on both devices.

The area I work in has poor cellular connection all around and often doing nothing my battery is nearly 2/3rds dead by the time I get off work and should I chase and forget my spare... well, I am not going to get too far. Yes. There is a car charger, but still another wire to deal with.

I guess what I am saying is, redundancy :)

The radar app I use is Pykl3

Any further discussion of her politics, please have them over at - Politics and Current Affairs - Android Forums

It's nothing personal. Others may wish to argue, and we give more latitude for political arguments over there, as mentioned in the sticky thread there.

As staff, I have no political views to express.

I think we can all agree that major political leaders are always controversial, and her passing marks another milestone in the passing of an era.

Whether she was good or evil, I'll let history and you all decide that in the PCA.

Many thanks for working with me on this, cheers! :)

Afternoon all y'all. And yes you as well sir Early.

Working on the lawn mower. I think its got bad gas in it. (Puns expected) And then I will be bored the rest of the day.

I was going to comment on funky's post, same as I was going to reply to another thread, but then, I'd get banned for sure. So I went with something my mother taught me (one of the few life lessons she bothered with) "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."

That being said, Afternoon everyone, who's up for a party?

Whelp, finished up my stage for the baking position. Damn, do they have a TON of cooks in that kitchen!
So, offered the job and negotiated up with their corporate chef for money. They really need someone asap, so I said I'd get back to them on Thursday at the latest. Will have to have a serious chat with the lady.
But!, I did have a lot of fun. :) First time in a while I've been at "work" and had fun. They have a banging staff of some really talented chefs. Decisions, decisions.

Oh no, you misunderstood me mate, I was simply meaning about my personal opinion/comments on Thatcher - that's enough to get me banned.

My reply to your post wouldn't have been nice, but in an 'I agree with you' way, just I wouldn't have been able to put it as nicely as you did ;)

I hope that clears that up bro ;)

Not sure. I have a jail broken ipad mini and when I got it it was like "Cool!" now its. Well... It does not work for me really. In theory it does hit a couple sweet spots for me. The SD card dongle, it will read raw files, upload videos to tweak or what not. In practice however, its is like, "so... I have an ipad mini. Now what? I am jailbroken. BFD." I look at it and it is like, Meh. Using it is totally counterintuitive as to android.

I am just not its target audience even though on paper it looks like it is the device, but the real proof is how much use it gets.

To tell you something else, my mom has a first gen ipad and she gets frustrated with it! Seriously, she looks at it and is like WTF!? How do I_____!? where is the back button? how do I go back with out going to the home page? Or she loads up a program and it dumps her back to the home screen and she is lost! She don't know what happend, she thinks she is doing something wrong! this is not user friendly at all, and this is coming from someone who just willingly let me direct her into a hail core of a thunderstorm last night!

She does not like the thing. At all. Sure it is running a recent update but its running slow, choppy, she complains angry birds is too slow and so on.

And these things are suppose to be "parent friendly" No so when she think she always is doing something wrong. How is that for being intuitive to use?

By the sounds of it bud, go for it, if you get in a position where you can go out to n your own, you might benifit from having a good previous reputation simply because you work better because your happier. Rock on

I didn't mean to offend either. Just gave a quote on her insight on feminism (which has nothing to do with politics).

Lol! Oh man i LOVE thunder storms. Yet another weather feature thats become rarer here :( your mum sounds cool :)
What about a microsoft tablet or even a laptop? Tbh Android is the only OS i have any kind of experience in but wouldnt there be a wider range of the type of weather software you use for windows desktop?
Although that doesnt solve you needing an internal cellular modem i suppose.
