Sorry if this has already been answered ...

Did the FM tuner make it to the release phone? I have yet to see it in the spec sheets that have been released so far. Though I have read user comments that it is definitely in the phone.

Thanks

No it doesn't unfortunately.

Good thing CDMA does not work in most countries- Android phones and roaming out of your country equals financial DOOM

We go to England every year and I do not use my G1 while over there (used Dash and now N900), since Android uses data all the time. Horror stories of $1,000 phone bills are all over the net and the carriers only cut the bills down by a fraction, since they have to pay the roaming carrier if you do not.

I am bailing from Tmo this month, but will use my N900 and a prepaid SIM as my travel phone when out of the US.

Sure, you can turn things off in the phone, but what is the point of taking it? Too easy to activate it, forget and then get an EVIL bill

Is this battery a Li-Ion or a Li-Poly?

My understanding is there the same thing, Sometimes they label them
"li-ion Polymer" ( my sch-760i says this)
or
"li-ion"
or
"li-poly"
or
"lipoly"

Although, the actually chemistry of individual batteries may vary their all kinda lumped together.

I stopped into one of the best buy mobile stores last night and they said on the 18th you can pay the $50 to reserve the phone and on the 29th there will be one waiting at the store for you. They specifically said you cannot take one home on the 18th.

why are so many people wondering if you can take the phone home on the 18th, you absolutely cannot

Absolution,

So you're saying if you have a NE2 contract now and go to get the incredible and switch to a 1 year contract you can get your ($50 or $100) off based on the plan you have AND get the phone at the 1 year contract price?

Kappy,
Based on what the CSR told me at the corporate Verizon is that the discount ($50 or $100) is NOT based on the plan/phone. He just said it is simply $50/yr up to 2 years (phone discounted if 2 yr contract). So if you buy a new phone in 1 yr which retails $600 then you'd get it for $550. If you have a 2 yr renewal then: $600 (retail) becomes the 2 yr price, lets say $199 minus NE2 discount = $99.

Patiently waiting on the Incredible

I follow what the user guide of the phone says. I would advise that to anyone. Also, the info for my enV2 does not differ much at all from the user guide for the incredible or from the info that was posted on the eris battery saving thread (which is also in my thread). You have to figure the eris battery and incredible battery will be closely related.

This thread is pretty much an off-topic chat room now that the Droid Incredible news has been released. Major thank you's to those of you that had any investigative risk and provided confidential information in this thread. It is your efforts that kept it going this long. Special thanks to Anonimac for babysitting us all while we posted a plethora of emotions and comments, useful or not.
Please let us know when the Incredible Owners thread is opened. Maybe by mass PM (if possible)?

Droid Incredible, here I come... :D:D

not sure if anyone have posted this already, but does anyone have any idea how many phones they will have in each Best Buy Mobile store?

I'd love to pick it up Sunday, but just the thought of getting to a store hours before it opens just to get in line and pray you'll be there early enough to get one turns me off.

you cannot pick it up sunday

Thanks! So I could get the incredible at a 1 year price and get my discount then ($50 for me)

@Steven58 - I also tried signing up for Swype beta last week but had already missed the boat. If you haven't seen or hear of them, there are a couple similar apps: ShapeWriter and SlideIT

Thank you. I guess I can only hope that swype goes into full release then, asap. :(

I have a question that some of the more experienced VZW contract people here could help with.

I am currently on a family plan, my line is the main line and it is eligible for New Every 2. I plan on pre-ordering the Incredible Monday. Now at that point do I get the New Every 2 discount applied to the order along with the instant rebate for a new contract and all that? I want to get upgrades for the rest of the lines on my plan as well (my sister is gonna get awful jealous if she is stuck with the enV2 when I get the Incredible). So the question is, can I get them upgrades on Sunday or Monday and then just pre-order using the New Every 2 credit? Or do I have to wait until I've already pre-ordered and upped the contract on Monday before I can get their upgrades?

I plan on going into a VZW corporate store at some point before Monday, but I just thought I'd check here to see if anyone might know the answer.

Thanks.

why are so many people wondering if you can take the phone home on the 18th, you absolutely cannot

Because the the marketing dept. for BB used "pre-sale" instead of "pre-order"
and "EXCLUSIVE" and "SPECIAL"

They INTENTIONALLY, made it un-clear so they could increase their sales...

if people stop-in thinking they can buy one, the sales people have a shot at getting them to "just go ahead and pre-order so YOU are sure you get one" blah blah blah....

I'm so excited. I was just told by my corp rep that I'll have it in my hands on the 26th.

From VZW or BB? This is Verizon's baby, its new flagship Android device, the Droid's successor. You wouldnt think that they would let another retailer have an exclusive retail period before Verizon could sell it. It doesnt make sense.

And of course law exams start the 29th... Of course....

To you BB folks in the know.

If I upgrade from a dumbphone to the Inc. thru BB mobile do they:

1. sell Inc and upgrade my phone plan / activate phone there right away.

or

2. sell Inc. I take it home and upgrade cell plan thru calling Vz or online and activate myself at that time as well

?

Thanks

No, this is through our Rep through our corporate plan. I was expecting her to say the 29th, so you can imagine my surprise when she said the 26th. I asked her again to be sure and she said Monday the 26th.

I've activated/changed phones online a few times it's easy and quick.

Please pardon my ignorance, but are you saying I don't have to go to a VZ store to switch phones/lines? I'll be using the wife's upgrade to get this phone and trading phones with her. Could I actually order the phone with her upgrade and then activate it to my number online?

Thanks in advance. :)

Wow, post #1500. I am glad I reached it on here before this thread closes...

I just want to say to everyone that I hope you all enjoy your incredible's! I have no doubt that this phone will be awesome. I also want to thank everyone in this thread for making it interesting, informative, enjoyable, and most importantly, FUN! I know there are several people (I won't mention any names *cough* Absolution *cough*:p:D) who dislike my posts and think what I (and others) post is useless and just clogs up the thread and I apologize for making you feel that way. It was all in fun and not meant to be disrespectful or pull down the thread (or make it so your lazy @sses have to read a little more  JK/JK!!!!:D). As for the people who I have pissed off :o I still like you guys/gals and value your posts and appreciate the information you have offered.

Even tho the majority of my posts are on this thread and probably 90% of them aren't even close to as important as NKT's and Anon's, I hope they made some of you laugh or at least got you thinking about something.

Lastly, I want to especially thank Steven58, MM, NKT, Nash, Woody (I know there are a bunch of others) who have kept this thing going through the rough times and offered some quality comic relief. Finally, Anon, thanks a lot for being a good guide and helping me out with some advice on the battery thread.

Oh, I should probably thank the MODs for not banning me too! Thanks!:D

Aw shucks... we feel the same way about you, young man! :)
