In the article, everyone notice the "loyalty credit"?! Might help for some people who are out of contract!

Also I'd like to add those of you who will be going to the store to purchase and are with the mail in rebates, try this first. Tell them you want the rebate as an instant rebate not a mail in and if they say they can't then tell them it seems to be better if I just order the phone online then.

I did this for my Omnia, they quickly got a manager involved and gave me the instant credit instead of mail in. Of course I may of just got lucky (specially since the next week the phone was reduced another $50 and I went back and got that too) but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I'm with you, i really don't understand this person's motivation at all...i've NEVER had any sort of "run in" with them, but they absolutely hate me. You should have seen some of the ridiculous stuff that was being said about me not to mention the pure inappropriate language and spamming...i just don't get it. Anyways, i have no problems talking to that person and figuring out what is causing all the anger and hatred...i'm sure they know how to get a hold of me if they want to have a dialoge.

Don't feel down Anon... we still live you!

im sure this has been posted, but i just saw this live shot on engadget...thought i would share!

do you think best buy / verizon stores will have cases and accessories for sale on launch day?

Look at the launch package in the evergreen thread, it indicates what accessories will be POST launch so I would think the ones that don't say POST launch will be available at launch.

Pricing Question..If I use my NE2 and order online through vzw will my price be $149 and no rebate?

Phone Cost 199 on two year deal minus my NE2 $50 off. Online I believe is instant no rebate to mail in. Is this correct ..Thanks

Begging a VZW rep (or possibly even visiting a VZW store in person) will probably yield better results.

The headphone requirement is because the headphone cable serves as an antenna. Without it you'll get little to no signal.

Just a stab at this (I think I know what Kappy means),

Since you just need the headphones as an antenna, you probably plug them in and then put the phone in speaker mode!?

Yes, that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to use another phones new every 2 discount and when the phone's delivered, I dial *228 send and the press option 3, then follow the directions and the phone is activated on my line.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but someone posted Best Buy's TOS and I believe it said you CANNOT switch the phone to another line within 180 days of sale or you forfeit the discount and they charge it back to you on your CC. So if this is correct, you CANNOT use another line for the upgrade through Best Buy stores and do the line switching, but can do it if you order it directly from Verizon via Store, online, or CSR telesales.

Am I correct here? This is all so confusing, I feel like a tax lawyer trying to understand all the nitches of this stuff.

Actually, #1 is not correct...should read $299.99 + $35 activation fee with $100 rebate (2-6 weeks) and training that you can find on YouTube.

What's with the "activation fee".... I don't remember Verizon doing this in the past. Is this only for new customers/activations or does this apply for current customers who are upgrading?

Nice article, good read, good tips.

The only thing I cant really understand, is the insurance. Yes theres a $50 deductable, but thats cheaper than buying your phone outright if you broke or lost it...right?

plus the monthly fee of 6.99, so add that all up depending on when you use your insurance, if you ever do.

That's what I thought, too. I called them, however, and the CSR told me that won't be a problem. I've since decided to buy from VZ however.

That was a lot of Anonimac bashing even for someone of thick skin, let alone lil' ol' me who bruises so easily...:(

Man...I miss an evening of posts, and come back to Anonimac bashing? Not like you need my help or support, but after all you've leaked (Always making sure that you got Phandroid the credit) and in the state that it was leaked (Often Unofficial prerelease info) people are bashing you? Whatever....we were ahead of engadget, bgr, and all the other (THEY were reporting based on YOUR images...or waiting til they got theirs days later) sites...

Between you, Kappy, MM, NKT, and all the countless others (Who I of course can't for the life of me remember) you kept us all fed and intrigued...hell, you guys have been the best marketing team Verizon never had. :D So thanks! And ignore the idiots...

"Oh My God...not EVERY single item Anonimac leaked became official....only MOST of it did...eff that guy!!!" Psh...

Good call. Thanks

EDIT: Do people recommend silicone cases or are they going to go with the snap on cases??

For your FYI. I just talked to CS at Verizon. You will not be able to pre-order the phone thru them. You have to do it online. It is only for new 2 year contracts. To just pre-order to purchase or upgrade you have to wait till the the 29th when the phone is available. I was on the phone for a half hour asking if I could call a pre-order as a upgrade and pay the one year price and he said no not until the 29th. So, he also said they have added more to there stock, because the demand seems to be large for this phone.
