Soo, I am aware that TV-out will be handled via a cable that plugs into the phone's headphone jack.

Anyone out there with more detailed info? Will there be the option for component cables and 480P output? ...or are we stuck with 480i and the composite cables from that accessory guide?

IMO, composite-only would kinda suck, but better than nothing, I guess.
 
FYI- I just stopped by the Watertown, MA Best Buy to ask the folks at the phone section if it was true that they would be taking pre-orders for the Verizon Droid Incredible this Sunday, April 18. They told me they knew nothing about it. Denied knowing anything about the Incredible. Said they hadn't seen the Verizon press release. They also said that usually they get a week's heads up before a pre-order date then looked at me as if I had two heads. I checked the mirror on leaving the store and didn't see the other one but perhaps I left it at the phone counter.
 
That makes sense, but just adding the unlimited data package back on (which I'll need with the Incredible anyways) should put me back over that line and give me the extra $50. I figure if I tack that unlimited data back on BEFORE ordering the Incredible maybe the NE2 will change back to $100.

Yeah, most likely. I'd give them a call and see if doing that will up your NE2 amount. It sure can't hurt to ask them. :)
 
Guys, sorry if this has already been answered. I don't have a Costco around where I live but I am a member over at Sam's Club. They have a wireless booth inside that handles all of the carriers I think. Does anyone know details of Sams Club carrying the Incredible? It would be nice to get free activation, instant rebate and accessory bundle like Costco. Just haven't heard any chatter about Sams.


I went there yesterday and the guy had no clue he was selling someone a moto droid with a free headset.
 
on the eris, did you look at the battery thread and check your down time battery usage? when i first got my eris it would not make it past 8 hours....but after deleting a couple of things and changing some settings i could easily make it thru 36 hours.

It will be fine grasshopper....these are intense phones...it takes some juice to get them rolling:D

Battery life should handily beat the Eris. The Snapdragon may be 1 ghz, but it's a much newer architecture - very good at scaling speed and conserving power. Not to mention, 2.1 is said to bring better batt. life.

Okay, so for clarification, this is not a special pre-order for BB's with mobile centers inside. This is only for stand-alone Best Buy Mobile stores.
All they do at these stores is sell mobile stuff, like any other cell phone store. No regular BB's with a mobile center inside will be taking part in this promo.
(which sucks for me because the nearest BBM store is 400 miles away)
 
well, time for post #2001. no that isn't a picture of me on post 2000, I am a 51 year old man! It does express my love and affection for the folks here, though.
 
I have a feeling they are updating the Best Buy Mobile site to make a clarification as to whether you can actually walk out of the store with it.

The page that said that they are doing a Pre-Sale (not order) is currently not found.

Thankfully I haven't driven the 30 min there yet.

I'd call to confirm that you don't have one any closer. The closest one to me, according to the website, is 326 miles away; however, when I called my local BB and asked to be transferred to their mobile department, they answered the phone "Best Buy Mobile," and they did say they'd be doing presale on 4/18 or 4/19 - "probably Sunday," I was told.

Besides, he doesn't look like he has the kind of frame to sing opera. :confused:
 
So i just got off the phone with VZW and I talked to a very helpful woman named Regina or Reshida (call was a little faint). I had to ask about my NE2 being in December of 2010 when I started my plan in September of 2008. What a helpful woman! She said that it should be in May of 2010 (with the four month buffer). I then explained to her how excited I was to order the Incredible and asked if there was any possible way to move my NE2 back to April 28. Not only did she do that she moved it back to today so that I can pre-order on the 19th!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing!!!! Verizon's call people are way, way better and much more helpful than the in-store people. I went down to the local VZ corporate store earlier this morning and used the Eris for 15 mins just to get my android fix for the weekend. No one helped me or even acknowledged my presence. Customer service over the phone is light-years ahead of my local corporate vzw. VZW should replace the workers in corporate stores with phones linked to call people!! They actually know to treat customers.

(Of course, that goes for my local VZ store) lol

She even asked where I was getting all my info about the Incredible so I naturally gave her the forum's URL!!

Yup, that's was one of the first things I asked them on the phone was, "...you sure there's no BBM in Nor. Cal" They're like uuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Closest BB Mobile store to me is in the pentagon.. :eek: They get their own BB Mobile store? The other stores are not easy for me to go to without a car.

Yeah, in 8 years, I've always had really helpful friendly people on the phone, and sometimes (not always) it's hit or miss in some of the corp. retail stores.

Try going through the website. I did it yesterday and they moved my NE2 date up 10 days just so I could pre-order it. I didn't have to convince them or anything. I just asked if I could use my NE2 early and they did it right away.

Trust me keep trying, I posted yesterday and told my story. My wife and I are in a 2 year contract, she is the primary line. Her one year isnt until July, she isn't eligible until Feb 2010 for her NE2. I called several times, and talked to a few managers. Finally a manager named Drew helped me out. He ended up giving her the NE2 upgrade now. I mean she is still a few months off until her 1 year, and this guy gives us the NE2 upgrade.

Be polite, stay calm, and stay level headed. They can help, but you have to find the right person.

Edit: Sent 'em an email - we'll see what happens...
Edit 2: Verizon came through! Rep says since we've been with 'em since 2001 - he'll get it changed by Sunday (when his manager comes back to work). We'll see if it really happens, but... woot!
