I got online and was chatting with an associate today at Verizon.com about if I would still be able to take advantage of that when the D.I. came out. Well of course he said he has no information on that. I asked if he was referring to my account or the phone and he was like the phone. I told him that I just wanted to know if I would be able to preorder when it came out at the price if I upgraded to the data package. He then proceeded to tell me they do not preorder phones. I had to even look up the email I received from them telling me preoders start online on the 19th. After I informed him that Verizon had sent me a letter telling me you do...he then was like you need to call this number then and they can assist you.

I am not upset with him. Just wish at some point they would let their actual employees know what they are doing. If they do...maybe tell them again. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Reminds me of my job.

no kidding... that's pretty poor. get with the program! I'd feel like an idiot if I were that guy.
 
Does anyone know if it has been confirmed that Costco will have the Incredible available on the 29th? Sorry if this has already been discussed, I searched the site and couldn't find a definitive answer.

i got mine from newegg, but any mirco sd will work. I went ahead and got a class 6 which means I can write to it a little quicker, i.e. taking pictures, of course with 8 gb internal storage im not sure i need to save the pictures to it....might have been overkill, but oh well....
 
i got a Adata 8gb class 6 . Even though 8gb on board would probably be more than enough for me, though't i'd add the extra 8gb and try to find a way to use it all up

Considering this is an updated Nexus One (for the most part..don't flame me on that).....

And people are b*tching about the 2.1 gallery being a lower bit rate and modding there pics.....

I'll take it as a guess its 24.

Incorrect. Per pg 25 of the Launch Package there is an 8gb micro sd included and preinstalled. It is probably not in the contents section since it is already installed in the phone. I hope this clears it up :D

So I called the number. The lady I spoke with was simply amazing. I explained exactly where I was coming from and I informed her from the start that I had no desire to get info on the phone. I knew what I needed to know about it. She let me know I was available for an early upgrade and that I could use it on the Incredible. A+. She even was like you know your upgrade date is a few months away so you should just wait and actually get a little more discount off your phone. Never tried to get me to buy something else.

I know most don't care cuz my post isn't oozing phone news out its seams...just thought I'd pass along some great customer service.

The Nexus One has a 18 bit screen. If the Incredible's screen truly is the same as the Nexus Ones it should have the same bit rate. Whatever, will find out soon enough;)

I asked about getting it moved up and she said that if it was within a month they could work something out, but August was too far away. I did double check with her that despite not completing my current 2 yr contract, that I could buy the DI at the 2 yr contract price ($200) - confirmed.

I think I'll go your route and see if I can't plead my case via email. After all, I've been non-problem customer of theirs since 2001 and I currently give them $160 of my money every month :mad: for a family share plan.

I will also try the email route. My gf is pre-ordering (dropping ATT) and I CANNOT let her have a 6 week jump on me! :)

Keep trying guys. Try sending them an e-mail through your My Verizon account. I emphasized the fact that I've been with them since 2003 and that I was upgrading from a regular phone (ie. no data plan) to the smart phone (with the $30 data plan). Eventually you'll find someone willing to do it. :)

howcome when i go to verizonwireless.com/incredible it says preorder is 19th?? thought it was 18th.. am i doing sumthing wrong?

do you think it's just letting you know there's 8 already in there (as in built in, not card)? or that its showing you how to put it in if you get one. if it's already installed, why would they need to show you? interesting...
