Car Chargers BEWARE!! SAME AS SAMMYZ!

I also had the same problem with my Motion 4g shorting out when I plugged it into my car charger. $15.90 and a few days and I'll be back up and running with my Motion.

PS. I've been using the Huawei M835 for the past couple days, and I have to say. It makes me realize how perfect my motion actually is...

I'm sorry... the ascend was a pofs, its cheaper lil sister is worse and I cant believe metro still sells it. lol
 
I would like to make a proposal.

This seems like Very Important information. There ARE lots of people with Motions who Aren't carrying insurance and would be SOL if a car charger fried their phone.

I would propose and ask nicely that Sammyz and B4 each take a couple clear up close pics showing each side of their respective chargers and that we put those pics in a pinned Warning thread. (I think Sammy only put up 1 pic and it wasn't so clear to me, <Sorry Sammy> :o )

If just one person sees that and doesn't get the phone frying model charger it'll be worth it. Plus, even those this might be more prevalent with Motions for some unknown reason, I'd also be Far Less inclined to buy the same charger for any other phone.

Please can we doing for the little Motion children? So they don't get fried?

My hair cutter (shaver) has the same plug as the phone and plugs into the wall. It states no voltage reference or anything on it. I've tried charging my phone with it several times and it drains it instead of charging lol. Its weird

The car chargers are going to kill us all, run for your lives!!!

Seriously. Don't buy crappy chargers. Buy OEM ones made by Motorola/Samsung/other trustworthy company and make sure it was intended to be used on an android and not a dumb phone.

Now that I have my motion, I can take a good picture, the other picture was taken with my optimus m because I was using it for a backup phone till the replacement came in.

One other thing, we have to many stickys already, so the stickys will have to be reorganized before a thread is stickied.
 
Well my charger was the cheaper Just Wireless brand here is a link to it: Just Wireless Car Charger For Motorola and other phones - Walmart.com And actually if you don't have a warranty on your plan then its fine, as long as you dont look like you have much physical damage on your phone, they give you a factory referb in 3-4 days. The metro store I went to and the manager I talked to said this problem has been brought to his attention at least 25 times since the phone has been out and just in his one store in Adrian, MI. So there has to be something up.

OHHHHH MAN!! Let me tell you... The M835 is so bad that even when I try to use swiftkey, there is atleast a 2 second gap from flow and the word actually showing up.

Yea they discontinued it and have it on sale now to clear em out. ;)
 
Also can you verify that the charger is bad?
Maybe with a volt ohm meter
I am wondering if its possible that there is more to this than faulty chargers.
I have had a few incidents where my phone got very hot charging and it seemed abnormal
It seems our phone had a switching system that can change charging rates.

What firmeware version did this ocur on?

My battery is still 100% fine, I actually threw the charger up against the wall.....errr i mean in the trash when this occurred. I have had my phone get hot to while charging, but only when it is hot in the area. I was running firmware verison F.
 
I use the trent arcardia dual port usb car charger I love it and it charges my phone awesomely it's only 10 dollars and works with many phone models.
