Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] DroidSmith 1.7.3 Update and Full

great work jimsmith80. love the look and it's running smooth. one question though... i tried using 3g turbocharger and v6 supercharger with script manager. browse as root and running as root (the crossbones and skull are green). and it keeps saying that it doesn't have root access.has anyone else had this problem?

also seem to be having problems when I turn wifi on and off. When I turn it on I will have to reboot the phone to get it to work. It will say it is connected but i cant do anything online. For exp. if I click on playstore it wont load. And then when I turn off wifi the 3g icon in status bar will appear.. it will flash green but mostly be darkened and again I can't get online til I reboot phone. Neither happens 100% of the time but they happen the majority of the time.

and last thing is a request for power widgets in notification.

Good input. I plan to look at the boot.Ingram first and then work on the notification toggels. Truth be told I don't like them, but the users of this rom do so it's on my to do list.

I wish I could help with the issues your having, but I have not run the scripts you are with DS.

Couldn't you make a flashable to add the notification toggles on top of your rom as a mod/add-on?

Sure it's possible. I might do something like that, but at the same time the files I would need to create a zip for would be specific to DS, and I would rather not create problems with other roms

I think I heard of a script that checks to make sure that certain flashables only flash by checking the build.prop to verify that its compatible with what its being flashed onto. Like some roms on here have it implemented to verify its being flashed onto a ZTE Warp and not a SGS3 or something, it avoids tons of problems :D

Yah i turn stuff off and on a lot.. and i hate to clutter up my screen so looking forward to that update w/ notification toggles. as far as the script goes i decided to add tweaks to buildprop manually, so problem solved lol.

Do you mind sharing your tweaks? It could help to improve the rom for everyone

I'll post it asap... reflashed rom and forgot to save.

edit:

first off i found these tweaks in different threads found on this site. just posting any that i found helped performance.

This helped my 3g speed. from an avg of 1200 to 1800kps, i've seen as high as 2300kps.

i changed all 3 vocoder settings to 4gv. (##3282#>edit>advance) Switched to sprint prl (60687 works great for me but other ones may work better for you)

ro.ril.hsxpa=2

had net.tcp.buffersize and dns tweaks but found that these made my 3g speeds worse, 350-700kps.

Good to know ill look at maybe incorporating some of this into future releases

DroidSmith does have init.d support by defualt. According to Mercury's instructions you will also need init.d2 support for powernap. You can use the version of alien kernel which I have altered for this rom to gain init.d2 functionality. If you would rather not bother with that, the next version of DroidSmith should be ready to roll out this weekend. The new version will have a tweaked version of powernap installed by default.

Suggestion:
Lightning Launcher works very very well with this rom, is only 204 KB, maybe you can make it builtin for next update.

I will take a look at it. The last time I ran lightning launcher I really liked it, but I can see how many people would be turned off by the amount of configuration that is involved.
