I can't find the video where he says 30 fps and I'm still looking but in this article they say it can towards the bottom so you won't have to do all that reading . But I'm sure this is a 30 fps device . I think that will be standard for the EVO .

I wish we wee able to see the devices themselves doing it because the compact version we watched is ugh . but he says its great quality and i believe it . wooah cant wait

What article man? was there going to be a link? :)

JinCa,
oh darn forgot to put the link sorry lols : HTC EVO 4G Firstlook . Yea I was caught up in the Qik videos lols . But yea I was looking through all his videos . Those are just the front facing cam vids . I think the quality should be better with the back cam . But Qik still is going to lower the content =/ . But in this video he says they are trying to work on tweaking Qik to better the quality . Starting at 2:30 minute mark is where he mentions it and on so you wont have to watch the entire vid : YouTube - HTC Evo 4G from Sprint hands on

As far as them boxes I was thinking the same . I wonder what the EVO will come with . I hope it comes with a lot of stuff like the Pre did . I hope it comes with the cord for the HDMI . I mean why have the feature and no cord ? That would ahve people going all over the place to get one if they don't have one already . Or would they include it as a separate accessory for more money ? Would be smart on them but not cool at all .

I'm glad that you are posting all the videos but you can just go to his video feed when the video is done or subscribe to him if you have a Qik account to see all of his videos . I just seen all the ones you are posting . But keep posting cause some people are still seeing it for the first time . Most of his videos are just leaving the phone on and letting it record what they do . I think it will have tons of things it can do by time of release . Right now I'm going to eat while it's halftime of these NBA playoffs and get back on here and watch the game live through streaming . Man imaine that on the EVO smh .

and just to add to it i can't wait until phones can have streaming to where every sec is on point or closer to live . cause in one of his videos its clearly a 10 second delay which is normal for most straming content . for example : http://qik.com/video/5667127 and the fac he says it pretty bugy i hope that smooths out some .

Very excited stuff. I went to the Best Buy web site and saw that I can upgrade earlier than Aug. So, as soon as the evo drops and hopefully I will have money saved. I will upgrade and get it.

For all the people expecting a screen upgrade, don't you think the people testing it would have leaked that the screen had changed if it had? with all of the other info that's coming out I hardly think that would stay secret. There is no way they would do all this testing to work on an lcd just to change it at the last minute, they'd have to start testing the new screen to make sure everything worked properly and if not then they'd have to start over with the new screen, when you change technology you have to test for it you can't just swap it out. I only say that because I don't want people to build themselves up for a let down later on.

I'm inclined to agree with this. I honestly can't see any groundbreaking new specs coming out for EVO. I know they said they have a few surprises...but I think its more likely that it's something incremental like maybe matching the Incredible's 8gigs of onboard memory (or heck even 4 would be great news). Or maybe it'll ship with the HDMI adapter. Something like that.

There is always the possibility of a "new/different" screen technology that Sprint and HTC may have been working on that no one knows about in the consumer market. Samsung is not the only company that can create new sceen tech, although I wouldn't hold my breath on this idea that's all it is, is an idea.

I really doubt that we'll see any kind of brand new screen tech for the EVO. There are very few companies with the R&D and the factories to make displays, and HTC and definitely Sprint are not among them. HTC buys screens from other manufacturers (I believe Samsung makes the AMOLED panels for the Nexus One/Desire/Incredible). Also, since we now know that HTC is going with Atmel to provide the touchscreen tech for the display, the screen will definitely not be Super AMOLED, which has the touchscreen built right into the display.

I'm a bit ambivalent about the screen choices. I'd love the vibrance and black levels of something like AMOLED, but would also love the sharper screen and daytime visibility of a traditional TFT LCD. So in the end, it might just be a wash.

I do hope that Sprint gets the phone out SOON though... I've had an upgrade available since December, and it's been 5 months now waiting for a viable high-end phone. It seems as if we have 2 months left to go... but I'm itching to get something... and might just go with the Verizon Incredible because of my lack of patience... Forgive me...

So here are the POSSIBLE surprises, if any of these come true i will be extatic, one or two of them i know will for a fact =]

1) More RAM/ROM. This is one of those facts. I said this earlier on and it was confirmed by HTC themselves. No specific number yet however I was told equal or better than incredible.

2) Super AMOLED-type display. There is some speculation that Apple is in discussions with Samsung to use their Super AMOLED Tech. Over time, if not now, HTC will create a "screen type" better or comparable to SUper AMOLED. We have no idea as of right now what the Evo will ship with as Sprint's website does not comment on anything but "A 4.3" screen. Suspicious? YESSSS!!!!

3) Android version? It was shown and via Sprint.com and other that it will come with 2.1. However a dicument surfaced a few weeks ago saying that it would come with froyo as seen somewhere (sorry i forgot details). Naturlly i called Dan and he explained to me this was becaue 2.1 was not designed to work with 4G. This was later confirmed that week. Now 2.1 would work on the phone just not to the potential a version of android that was capable with 4G could. 2.5 is looking like a real possibility guys. I dont know this one for a fact but why have a ferrari only go 60 right?

4) APPS APPS APPS. This is another fact. NOOOO 4G apps have been shown yet!!!! They have been slightly talked about and/or other NON-4G versions have been shown. Many 4G apps will be included!!!

Hope this cleared some things up

Hang in there Bend. Before you know it the evo will drop. I have a gift card to best buy and I can upgrade early :). Plus I am going to pre order the evo...so if it does cost$199.99-$250.00 I can save some $.

No don't say that guy smh lol . No Incredible lols ! Wouldn't be a bad choice adn of course get what you feel is best for you . Just a little longer . Wait until June

I remeber it was a big debate on Sprint forums about what type of screen cause they never had the exact TYPE in there spec sheets . Then that same spec sheet we came across Jackson had found out they added the word AMOLED next to the screen but they also had something miss spelled so idk so that left us all like is this a mess up ? Guess we all will have to see . I mean who cares if it doesn't do good in direct sunlight . They have options to adjust to that and nobody will be directly in the sun trying to use their phone anyways . 4.3' AMOLED ugh beautiful .

It wasn't really a debate. On the dev site for the Evo they had AMOLED listed as screen type. However a forum mod came in and said that it was simply a typo and that it would most def. be TFT. Now if that's true or not who knows?

Well , we wil see then . I don't care if it is or not but I would rather have AMOLED . Right now I just want to know how you can upgrade earlier then usual through Bestbuy like Kritzell did ?

That's what I'm talking about. Updates after the 4/17 bust of 2010. I do hope that they put more memory in the EVO. I know that 1GB of ROM and 512MB RAM on top of a 8GB SD card (upto 32GBs) sounds like its enough but the more the merrier. I plan on keeping this bad boy for a while and memory is a must. As with the screen, I too am suspicious about the lack of detail on the screen specs from Sprint. I am wondering how that will play because isn't the Nexus having issues with the Amolde screen?

As for the Farrari comment, I have a SRT8 Charger and 0-60 (in 5.3 seconds I may add) is fine for me.

Thanks for the continued hope!!!!
