You have to watch the keynote videos. They do mention during the demonstration a few times.

I can't find the video where he says 30 fps and I'm still looking but in this article they say it can towards the bottom so you won't have to do all that reading . But I'm sure this is a 30 fps device . I think that will be standard for the EVO .
For all the people expecting a screen upgrade, don't you think the people testing it would have leaked that the screen had changed if it had? with all of the other info that's coming out I hardly think that would stay secret. There is no way they would do all this testing to work on an lcd just to change it at the last minute, they'd have to start testing the new screen to make sure everything worked properly and if not then they'd have to start over with the new screen, when you change technology you have to test for it you can't just swap it out. I only say that because I don't want people to build themselves up for a let down later on.
There is always the possibility of a "new/different" screen technology that Sprint and HTC may have been working on that no one knows about in the consumer market. Samsung is not the only company that can create new sceen tech, although I wouldn't hold my breath on this idea that's all it is, is an idea.
Hang in there Bend. Before you know it the evo will drop. I have a gift card to best buy and I can upgrade earlyI really doubt that we'll see any kind of brand new screen tech for the EVO. There are very few companies with the R&D and the factories to make displays, and HTC and definitely Sprint are not among them. HTC buys screens from other manufacturers (I believe Samsung makes the AMOLED panels for the Nexus One/Desire/Incredible). Also, since we now know that HTC is going with Atmel to provide the touchscreen tech for the display, the screen will definitely not be Super AMOLED, which has the touchscreen built right into the display.
I'm a bit ambivalent about the screen choices. I'd love the vibrance and black levels of something like AMOLED, but would also love the sharper screen and daytime visibility of a traditional TFT LCD. So in the end, it might just be a wash.
I do hope that Sprint gets the phone out SOON though... I've had an upgrade available since December, and it's been 5 months now waiting for a viable high-end phone. It seems as if we have 2 months left to go... but I'm itching to get something... and might just go with the Verizon Incredible because of my lack of patience... Forgive me...![]()
I remeber it was a big debate on Sprint forums about what type of screen cause they never had the exact TYPE in there spec sheets . Then that same spec sheet we came across Jackson had found out they added the word AMOLED next to the screen but they also had something miss spelled so idk so that left us all like is this a mess up ? Guess we all will have to see . I mean who cares if it doesn't do good in direct sunlight . They have options to adjust to that and nobody will be directly in the sun trying to use their phone anyways . 4.3' AMOLED ugh beautiful .
So here are the POSSIBLE surprises, if any of these come true i will be extatic, one or two of them i know will for a fact =]
1) More RAM/ROM. This is one of those facts. I said this earlier on and it was confirmed by HTC themselves. No specific number yet however I was told equal or better than incredible.
2) Super AMOLED-type display. There is some speculation that Apple is in discussions with Samsung to use their Super AMOLED Tech. Over time, if not now, HTC will create a "screen type" better or comparable to SUper AMOLED. We have no idea as of right now what the Evo will ship with as Sprint's website does not comment on anything but "A 4.3" screen. Suspicious? YESSSS!!!!
3) Android version? It was shown and via Sprint.com and other that it will come with 2.1. However a dicument surfaced a few weeks ago saying that it would come with froyo as seen somewhere (sorry i forgot details). Naturlly i called Dan and he explained to me this was becaue 2.1 was not designed to work with 4G. This was later confirmed that week. Now 2.1 would work on the phone just not to the potential a version of android that was capable with 4G could. 2.5 is looking like a real possibility guys. I dont know this one for a fact but why have a ferrari only go 60 right?
4) APPS APPS APPS. This is another fact. NOOOO 4G apps have been shown yet!!!! They have been slightly talked about and/or other NON-4G versions have been shown. Many 4G apps will be included!!!
Hope this cleared some things up
