Been using it since 4.2 came out (Nexus user as you well know) and I love it. I've never used a third party keyboard and it's the best stock Android keyboard to date. I just typed this whole post using it with Gesture Typing (swiping).

Well, yeah the 4.2 keyboard is certainly the best AOSP one to date but the only time I use it is to sign into my Google account and then immediately restore Swiftkey. :)

Awesome news, at least one way to go about beating the bloat. Shame it's needed at all imo. I think high end phones these days should just have a 32GB or 64GB chip regardless and the manufacturer can easily partition off 8GB and advertise them as 24/56GB models and then users would at least get a lot closer to what's advertised. Bulk buy/mass produce, make it more cost effective surely?

I don't need a 32 GB nor 64 GB storage. 16 GB is more than enough for me. Honestly, what do you put in a phone that takes up so much space?

Same here. Most of my storage is taken up by Nandroid backups. All my media is streamed (Unlimited Data FTW!). But, there are a LOT of folks out there who just can't fathom having such "limits" on storage.

For me, I just use a sd card to store my music and stuff because it would be easier when I change phone. Still, I don't really need 32 GB but if it is the cost of the 16 GB version, I would buy it :D

I think you miss the point.

I don't need much storage at all, it's not about me. But I've seen endless rants on how many people want/need more storage for their entire mp3/movie collections.

With the S4 the whole issue is the 16GB model has something like a 4-5GB partition for the firmware image, giving the user just over half the advertised storage space. In the UK this can and most likely had lead to people filing claims of "Trade descriptions" as the description is to have 16GB of storage space, not 9GB of usable storage space, so the description is somewhat off.

My point was simply, use a minimum of 32GB cards, (for cost effectiveness) partition off whatever is needed, plus a few GB and advertise the phone with a more accurate description, if the phones various partitions and firmware image are known to be say 4.5 GB, fine, partition off 8GB to allow for future updates upto that size, and advertise the phone as a 24GB storage model. The description is more accurate, and the user knows the phone has more than 16GB to use if needed, upto 23GB (by the time the format is done) and also that the phone will likely have room to host larger update images in the future, without sacrificing storage space to accommodate them.

It's all about making the whole device more transparent in terms of 'real world, this is what you're getting' and making purchase decision process easier for people of all experiences.

I get your point. But isn't every company doing that? If they advertise what they actually have (for this case, storage spaces), then who's going to buy? Media is a powerful tool that can manipulate people into false beliefs through false advertising.

Remember, companies said "storage space" and not "usable storage space". Through this terms, they can say what makes people think they are false advertising. I can invent a phone that has 100000000 GB of storage space, but only 1 GB is USABLE STORAGE SPACE.

Mornen All :ciao:

Believe it or not in all my High end smartphones i have never used or needed a memory card in either one, i only load the stuff i really need and there plenty of space for that .

Hey BreadNatty, I saw something on the news that made me immediately think about your Baking, there a new Boudin Bakery that opened up in Escondido down here and people camped out all night to be one of the first 100 people to win free bread for a year ;)

Never been there, but the pics on their website leave a bit to be desired. :o
Made an extremely dense 90% rye bread this morning. Recipe says it needs 24hrs to rest before cutting into it!
