I just checked my credit card statement and the charge is still pending, but they are processing it today. So, it appears the $199 is charged when you preorder and not when it is shipped.

Thanks joecreed, good to know actually. I kind of got the impression the lady I talked to was more interested in filing her nails than helping me.

This was a couple of months ago for a warranty replacement from Verizon. I called the day before it was supposed to arive at the station here where I live. But she said they couldn't do that without trying first.

I just ordered mine for $229 (1 year contract) and I have a corporate discount.

To OFFICIALLY use tethering you need to spend the extra 15 dollars...

My understanding is Verizon is currently practicing a "don't ask don't tell" policy on the 29$ plan though. meaning there are apps that allow tethering and people use them all the time.

Be warned this may change in the future as more people use 3g phones and Verizon's network sees more traffic.

I use a 3rd party app on my i760 (WinMo) to tether my laptop and it works fine...

I have a corporate discount, but I don't believe the discount applies to the phone, only accessories and the plan. I am also a secondary line on a family plan.

Verizon should have cases and accessories on the 29th when they start to sell the phone.... i dont think any place currently has a case for sale for the DI yet

Normally you cannot do this until they have attempted one delivery. Maybe if you have a really good relationship with your fedex "guy".

i paid for overnight priority before 1030am. What time do u guys start deliveries?
 
I am kind of dissapointed Verizon never sent an email. I am sure most of us (if not all) signed up to get updates. If it weren't for me checking this forum every 15 minutes last night I wouldn't have known I was able to Pre Order so early. Unfortunate for those who were waiting for the email but fortunate for me I guess :)

No, it just means that FEDEX has to delivery my phone before 10:30AM on the 29th, instead of up to 3PM, so i can get it before i leave the house for the day and not worry about staying home to sign for it.... so its just more convenient for me but some people said they didnt get to pick anything other than Fedex overnight by 3pm....

I received a corporate phone discount when I bought my Storm. Not sure if that's what is happening here though.

They'll ask you to log into your Verizon account, and then they will honor the lowest price displayed, whether that be Verzion or Best Buy. So really what they're doing is price-matching to include your NE2 discount.

I had to clear my browser cookies / history to get rid of the Promo for free standard overnight shipping, because once i entered freeovernt it wouldnt go away, once i cleared my browser i went back through and added the phone as an upgrade and it let me pick between overnight by 3pm, priority overnight by 1030am, standard 2-3 day fedex...... so i picked the 1030am option....

or just try and use a different browser (google chrome, firefox)

edit* i also get the corp discount so not sure if that makes a difference...

Interesting. I'm getting grief from our rep - saying that it's not possible to pre order for business customers and I'll need to wait until the 29th to order it.

Does it give you the option to go ahead and pre order?

12:43 PM Miranda: rather than getting the new every 2 pricing taken off the price of the phone, then getting a mail in rebate, we just offer the phone at a straightforward pricing. Meaning, within Best Buy, the price you see listed for a phone is the price you get.

12:45 PM Beau Birkholz: ok. So just to make sure I understand. Instead of getting $100 rebate through the mail, Best Buy just takes $100 off the phone instead?

so i guess my question is, if they just match it and you dont use your NE2, then would it still be there if you wanted to get another phone?

I have the Zagg screen protector on my iphone 3gs, and i think its great.

I was even able to take it off when they replaced my iphone with a new unit and i was able to reapply it to the new phone.... so this may will mark the 1 year point for the protector and it still looks new.... so i will definitely get this for my DI

its really just a personal preference... go to best buy and see if they will show you one of the Zagg packages so you can feel the texture, just say you want to feel it before you buy it.... and then compare it to a regular screen protector.... thats going to be the only way for you to know for your self... not everyone likes the same thing....
