I agree with that! I am super picky too, but if for some reason I end up not liking the Incred I can just go ahead and return it. No issue there.

That is my plan. Reviews help but I won't know if it works until I actually use it. That being said, the reviews look good and within my expectations.

Awesome vid, thanks!

no prob! don't want all the credit though, somebody else posted it first ;) just thought i'd repost it for people that didn't get a chance to see! so much for everyone thinking it'd be the same screen as the desire/n1... :D

Haha I didnt read that part. I read that it was possibly ceramic or glass on Engadget

"There's also a front-facing camera, a larger and better camera with a flash on the back, a higher-res display that's slightly smaller than the current models, a second mic for noise cancellation, and that new back, which Giz seems a bit confused about but we're fairly sure is glass or ceramic"

Apple's 4th-generation iPhone revealed -- Engadget

But regardless whether its plastic or glass ( Ceramic would have been really nice ) the back is smooth and not protruding. If or when I get the Incredible, how am I supposed to put the phone down? I cant lay it on its back cause the camera is sticking out and I dont want to scratch the lens. I really dont want to face it down cause the plastic edges will start to see wear.

and this is exactly why he's considered a troll, laying the incredible on its back touches the lens no more THAN ANY OTHER PHONE, even the rumored new iphone will lay flat on the table meaning the table will touch it, just like with the incredible.

I actually think this is a perfect design, so when you buy your protective cover, the camera will end up being flush with it.

most of the reviews that talk about it, say it's already flush and doesnt actually stick out, just looks like it does.

From what I understand there was an app for the Moto Droid to access voice dialing. Does anyone know if the Incredible has a feature like this? It would be great to utilize my hands-free in the car.
Also- as far as Fed-Ex delivery, I was told by VW customer service the devices ship out on the 26th to be received by the 29th. People really need to chill, you pre-order you'll get your phone on or around the 29th. I'm exited too but I'm more pissed about how my corp. discount seems to be pointless. I really don't feel like paying 160 a month for two phones. I'm having a hard time justifying that.

Why I picked the Incredible. (A love story).

First it should be noted that I’m currently plagued by a Storm. Yes, the Blackberry Storm. So ultimately anything could be considered an improvement. I just want to voice my comparisons out loud in an informal letter. I spent some time comparing a few phones and while looking into all my options here’s how I came to fall in love with the Incredible:

First, the much anticipated EVO: It’s just too big. I know that’s actually part of the selling point. But using the HD2 as a measuring stick, the thing is just too darn big. I need something I can comfortable hold in one hand, slide into my pocket or don’t feel like a dwarf when holding up to my ear. Specs wise the phone offers some “improvements” like the HD video recording and HDMI output. Both seem nice, but I won’t give away my perfectly sized devise for those “improvements”. While the WiMax sounds nice, I won’t be too excited about this new roll out for anther year or two when we can actually see what the difference is. For now Sprint will have it available in only a few selected cities (yes mine is one) and I just don’t trust Sprint (former customer). Finally, this phone is still months away so that kills anything it may have had going for it, which wasn’t much. Even if the Incredible didn’t exist, I would still be looking past the EVO for love.

Next, the iPhone 3GS. It’s not a bad phone, I’m no hater. My wife has one and loves it. I play with it occasionally so I’m familiar with what it can do and what it can’t do. Initially its fun and does everything fine but it is just sort of boring to me. I’m aware the 4.0 update will help with many of my current complaints (multi-tasking for example). However, it seems to me this “update” is merely a “catch up”. For arguments sake I’ll assume the update is in affect now to compare. I still think the phone’s capabilities are limited due to Apple’s controlling mindset. While I contribute that outlook to much of Apple’s success, I also consider it to be part of their demise; at least to me as a consumer. I simply don’t think Apple has the consumer in mind. I’ve seen the way the limited way they roll out products, giving people small bites and keeping the carrot dangling in front of everyone. Purely in the interest of making money and getting people to “upgrade”. That’s fine if they want to do that. Heck, you might even argue that its good business. While that may be a point worth arguing, I’m not going to do it. Because like Apple, I have only my best interest in mind and theirs is not a philosophy I can support. Apple made the Smartphone “cool” sure, and I actually am grateful for that as many other manufactures jumped aboard. But the Incredible does everything I want and need it to do (and more), some things better, some things maybe not as much. But it still does everything and I get a better network and don’t have to be trapped by Apple's take-take-take; me-me-me approach. I need to be loved too.

Two months ago I was dead set on picking up an Apple iPhone this summer when the new one rolled out. Heck, it is a big part of why I still tortured myself with the stupid Storm phone for so long, just trying to delay the demise. However after spending a couple months doing some hard nosed research I realized the Incredible was the answer, not the aforementioned iPhone. The Android system is alive and kicking. The possibilities are endless. While there were other phones worth a mention (Moto Droid & Nexus One) I simply stuck to the best Android phone out there. Sure the EVO will get plenty of attention, but I won’t mind. I know what I have is Incredible.

When the Apple machine gets rolling this summer on the new iPhone it might make me take a look, but I know what happens when that machine gets rolling and I don’t want to get sucked in, twirled around and abused for the next few years.

I am happy to jump aboard the Incredible Android train, next stop….happily ever after!

Hey guys lets get back to the topic of the Incredible... it is obvious Supraman is a cult follower of Steve Job's and would buy anything he releases... Hey Supraman Did you hear Steve is releasing the Iturd? It is available on ebay right now!! I think it is still fresh better go buy it

I know this is a little OT, but it does have to do with the Incredible and I thought you all might be able to help . . . . (Actually might not be a bad thread to start for all Android phone transfers).
If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'm happy to move my post to another thread, I just couldn't find anything related on the site.

I currently have the Moto Droid and have spent quite a bit of time customizing it. From what I understand, all of my contacts should transfer to the Incredible once I sign up with my existing Google account. I also understand that all of the apps I have paid for, I should be able to re-download for free.
Here's my questions:
1. Are all of my downloaded (free & paid) apps listed somewhere? (I couldn't find anything on my Google account)
2. I've created folders on my homescreens. These folders contain shortcuts to map locations, shortcuts to apps, shortcuts to games, etc. Can I transfer Folders & Shortcuts to the Incredible? (maybe via SD card)
3. What about transferring contact's custom ringtones, alerts, etc?
4. Playlists?
5. Notes? (specifically from ColorNote & Astrid)
6. Bookmarks?
The reason I ask is because I know when my Moto Droid is deactivated, I will not have access to these things.
Worse case scenario, I can write down all of my apps, map addresses, ringtone/alert messages, playlists, notes, bookmarks, etc. but I REALLY don't want to have to go through that and then manually reload everything . . . .
Are there any other items I should consider transferring?
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Go the market, download "MyBackup Pro" ($4.99) and follow the directions. I'm sure others have different opinions but this is one of the best apps out there. It saves EVERYTHING on your phone to be easily downloaded when you want it. You can even set auto backup to run whenever you want.

I do it everytime i order anything from verizon . clips cases and phones. You just leave a note for the fedex driver telling them what the tracking number is, your signature and where to leave it and when u get home (as long as no one steals it) its waiting for you where you want it to be

I was told by FedEx that all Verizon package requires a mandatory signature from an adult.

yes there not supposed to do that lol... but if you have a cool fedex driver and live in a safe area I say why not?

I guess mine breaks the rules as well...
3rd that!

I was told by FedEx that all Verizon package requires a mandatory signature from an adult.
Mine leaves any and all packages. If I'm expecting something, I just write a note to leave it on the front porch and I sign it - maybe that part is key? They do take the note with them, so apparently that suffices.

restocking fee !
In the form of 1/2 your retirement...are you SURE that newer model is worth it?! :D

I ordered my current phone from Verizon Wireless two years ago. I was at home waiting for my phone. I checked the Fed Ex tracking site to see where it was. The page said it had been delivered!! I ran around to all of my doors - no package. I checked with my neighbors - no package. I called Fed Ex to try to find the phone. Ends up a neighbor from across the street (whom I had not met yet) happened to see the Fed Ex man in town and stopped him to get a package he was expecting. The Fed Ex man told him he also had a package for me. The guy from across the street signed for it and finally brought it a few hours later.

SSSOOOOO, the whole mandatory signature thing is somewhat ambiguous!! They may need a signature, but it seems that they don't always care who signs it, or where they are at the time!

My old driver at my previous address would round back to my house prior to him leaving town. But he usually wont leave a package on the door step even with note since I live in a college town

Ok, so either someone F'ed up big time or something because I just got a tracking number and I'm slated for delivery tomorrow AM of my Incredible. I've already checked FedEx and the package is at the Memphis,TN facility...

So either A: I'll have a second Moto Droid here tomorrow, or......or.....
B: My Incredible will be here tomorrow lol
