Help New Gmail App

I see the Gmail app is being updated slowly and I've found a place to download it so I could try it out now but I get that stupid error about parsing the package and it won't install. I've moved it to my SD card and tried installing from there. I've read in other forums a couple comments about that error meaning the app isn't compatible with the phone. Anyone have any info or explanations? Thanks!

Several reasons why this can happen and are detailed in this page over on stackoverflow:

"Parse Error : There is a problem parsing the package" while installing Android application - Stack Overflow

(although much of the discussion is only relevant to/for developers).

I can't say for sure what might be the case in your situation, but you might be able to glean an answer from the above (just be careful messing with your existing Gmail app :)).

Cheers!

As soon as it's official, the app should update itself:) Or at least give us an indication that an update is available:).
