Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I've been thinking of getting a really cheap T-Mobile phone for a month to see how service is around here.

I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with how much better T-Mobile has become. I'm saving about 110 dollars per month with them because of the 30 dollar plan.

OK, just flashed Shiny. Restoring from the app store now. I have been dealing with the screen off issue, have to battery pull to get screen on at least once or twice a day. I will report in later.

So I'm following the Chief's user guide to install a new rom, and was using Goo manager to download gapps, and a rom off AOKP.

For the life of me, I can't find the rom on the phone. I can find the Gapps, but using AStro and also probing the phone connected as a usb device yields no Rom. I have the download path set in goo manager to sdcard/goomanager/

Can somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong. I can't find the Rom in either astro, or USB connected, it's like it disappears somewhere

I'm tired of pathetic battery life, got the 14% left warning at 11:30 today, after making zero phone calls, and using Google maps twice.

Gotta agree with the Chief, Moto X or something different is needed.

First of all, Adjuster, I'm flattered that you like my Guide. Second of all, if the ROM isn't in the Downloads folder then I wouldn't know where it is. I never use GooManager for ROMs and Gapps... only to update TWRP Recovery. They might be going into a folder in /System: I have no idea.

I always download the ROM & Gapps to the PC, check the MD5 with WinMD5 (great little program), then move it to the phone in a specific folder so everything I need to flash is in one place. That way, I have copies of the ROMs on the PC for backup without taking up too much room on the phone.

I wish I could be more help on this one... but I can't :o

Good luck and let me know if I can be of REAL assistance! LOL

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Let me know what you think of it.

FYI data issues exist on all Verizon phones running 4.3 due to there not being any Verizon phone running 4.3 - if there were, the devs could grab the APN APKs from this device and use it for anything running 4.3 on the Verizon network.

AT&T resellers don't have it. I was told by mine that corporate stores launch it today... third party retailers get it at the end of the month.

Authorized dealers have always been that way. They don't always get new phones same day. I had the problem with the Incredible. I reserved it not knowing they weren't getting until a week later.

They are trying their hardest to get everyone off unlimited.

^I would suggest you unlimited users take advantage of that. As soon as June comes around next year, you'll lose unlimited AND be forced into the $30 for 2GB or into the family share plan.

If Moto can't meet the demand of a limited pre-order selection by AT&T in 4 days (mine scheduled to be delivered 8 days after order was placed), then how are they going to meet the rush of orders today and next week on time?

Split!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah the problem with max is you are still not getting a subsidy. So it's really no different than paying pull price and keeping unlimited, except you get limited data. No thanks.

Thanks Stigy, so far so good. I have not had any issues as of yet but I will keep an eye out. I am trying out some of the mood now.

On a separate note, we have had a rough day. Our little dog Sammy, passed away last night at 3:30. He was 15 and such a huge part of our lives. We trained him as a therapy dog and he went to work with us to help our patients. In his life, he had only spent two nights away from us. We keep looking for him and expecting him, everywhere. This is going to take some time, we are both so sad. Our cat does not seem to realize he is not here, she is 17, and was here before him. We already miss him.
