Root One Click Root for Metro PCS

hell yeah it worked. Everything is written in chinese but download it and install on pc like it says in op. I went ahead and put it on lg software mode just to be sure. After its installed open up the desktop icon and click the green button after it detects your phone. Then it reboots and boom it works, I installed superuser from the playstore and it updated binary just fine gonna install busybox pro just be sure I have busybox

Worked for me fast and easy. Thank goodness no security error like that other root method did to my other L9 :D Thanks eversleyd

Yeah I am new to the L9 and have no input for anything. I am still learning. Of course I can't really contribute much as it is, I have no skills when it comes to all this stuff (android development). I just know how to follow directions to get more out of my device. Thanks anyways though.

What do I do first? The wife's that just did a restart or mine in case of glitch so wife doesn't rip off my head and $#it down my throat. Wish me luck.

I just did both my wife's & mine and its easier than navigating back to this thread. 2 things to ad to your directions, 1: turn debug on 2: reboot before starting. The debug was important because the app shows a pop-up in Chinese and after 15 min I asked a neighbor what it said. I used Titanium bu pro & superuser to confirm root. It was so simple like my first time downloading on Comcast, so fast I thought it failed, 5 Times. Thanks to all for the app & link.

Best root for the l9 on metro.

Place phone in software mode and allow it to instal drivers
If it's taking too long click the popup that shows more details and skip windows update searches.
Once adb drivers are installed go ahead and close the driver installation.
Open program, click green button. Wait. Click root. BLAMMMOOOOOO! ROOT

I just noticed that this app also installs its own superuser and I installed my own that I always used before. Is this a problem or can they work together? They do have different features but the one with the app is still mostly Chinese. So far I haven't had a problem and Titanium bu works great as well.

Well if and when the su app updates the binary file it will say that its more than one su app would you like to remove. The only thing is to use the su app to remove the unwanted su app. IF YOU DELETE ONE FROM THE SYSTEM you are dooooomed

That's why you only disable it under system settings>apps.. I always use the clockworkmod su app.. I disable whichever one gets installed from which ever exploit and replace it with the cwm one. I have never had an issue with updating the binary..

See if you use the super su apk . Its the same and same builder just better has more things to control . But every time i tried to do it that way had to reflash cause the dam phone just forceclose and wont allow you to do nothing .

Have you tried using a root browser to swap out the apps in system/ app?
Or using titanium backup to make your preferred su app a system app and freezing or deleting the installed one?

Since the su binaries are app specific if one wanted to they could push the preferred app to the system make sure it's updated as a safety precaution then uninstall the other with TB...

No. That's why I ask before leaping. I believe in don't monkey with the monkeys monkey. But since its unanimous to use only one SU I will try to freeze the Chinese SU and update my SU's binary. Do I understand this right?

Isn't that pretty much what I said? I just said it as simple as I could.

Yeah. If that works You can also backup (just in case) And uninstall the Chinese one

I froze the Chinese SU and tried updating the binary and it all passed until it got to the line Remounting /system as ro... failed. I'm using the ChainsDD Superuser app. What am I doing wrong?
