Root [GUIDE] Howto Root LG Motion 4G

This is a very good tutorial that should help the newcomers, good job!

Sent from my LG-MS770 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

*FIXED*The Drivers are installed ,but every time I connect to my windows 8 laptop it says USB device not recognized. I've tried all the drivers posted on here so what can fix it?

I installed the systembackuptest but can't install it. There is no option to. ??? I don't know what I'm doing wrong...Also, do I have to install the driver on my phone or just on my computer? And when copying systembackup should I have it on media sync or charge only?...I'm all screwed up...

Driver computer (always man, always)
Root.bat computer
App phone

To install app, copy it to phone sdcard, get a file explorer app, browse to where it's located, open the app, install it, open app, reboot phone

I installed the driver. But when i move the systembackuptest to sd card it only has options to extract, not install. It doesnt have .apk its .zip...i've been at this for 3 days and can't get past the first step. Bout to just give up

If it's a zip file then you extract it in your computer and then move the extracted file to the phone.

Not meaning to offend, but maybe you should do more reading to be sure of what you are doing before you try anything. If you're not sure of what you're doing, do nothing but read.

Lol, I understand what you meant. I've rooted and installed roms on some of my older phones...I already tried extracting the systembackup file and moving it to my sd card. It made no difference, it was just a normal file. No .apk ...maybe re-downloading the systembackup file?...I know its simple and spelled out clearly (I know how to read). I've read it and watched at least 3 videos on youtube. I'm just stuck. (And feeling like an illiterate, haha) any advice would be helpful tho. Maybe something I've overlooked?

*Update*
Rooted and installed cm10. All working.

I just redownloaded all the correct files and started over from the beginning. Had a little trouble with the command screen but someone mentioned opening o4xr folder and double clicking on root a few times. Worked no problems. Thanks everyone.

i usually have no problems on the root process but after unbricking and trying to root again my pc reads my phone but nothing comes up in the file. i have no acces to my sd.
any ideas. heres the log if it helps
DON'T TOUCH THE DEVICE OR UNPLUG WHILE ROOTING!

I have the backup installed. I have the unknown sources checked. any ideas? tips? comments? or questions?
Also. my charging USB cable is in slow charging mode due to lack of power being put out.

I know I've posted this numerous times.. A factory reset isn't actually necessary..

If you attempt it once, and you receive this message:

Just got the motion. I'm just wondering, is an external SD card needed for this root or can I put the required files on the devices memory?

Hoe hum... You don't have to put a anything on the phone's memory except installing an app.. No need for external SD. Just download the app right on the phone and run it when it's done downloading to install it.

Okay, I went back and got a better look at what's going on. My bad dude I was just breezing through just about everything that's going on with this phone and it got a little overwhelming. I'm used to coming in on a phone at first when very little development had happened yet.
