Root [International] need efs help

To be specific, here's what I've done... I rooted, installed CWMtouch, and now I need a rom. I downloaded Android Revolution HD and flashed it. It worked, but broke my efs folder and messed up my imei number. I had to flash my firmware to get signal back.

I finally got my phone back in order after a couple hours and, of course, flashed the rom and messed up the file again. This time I backed up my efs file.

I want to try this rom again but wondered what I need to do to have this rom with my efs safe

Theres an app called Ktool by Hellcat that can backup and restore EFS. you could try that.
Id try a different rom though tbh, i flash a lot and havent yet lost my EFS. gud luck and at least use ktool to make a backup

Yeah you can flash basebands from inside the recovery. There's a huge thread over on xda with tons of modems.

Does it matter which one I chose? I don't want to flash the wrong one. XDA is where I got the ROM that started this

What country are you in? I think(?) BTU is international carrier free.
Am i right there peeps?
I havent changed my modem in longtime

remember nandroid backup DOESNT backup your modem/baseband so have one that you know works in your phone incase the new one doesnt

Ok, i tried to follow the thread on xda, I downloaded the new firmware and odin v3.09 and done the AP BL CSC but the odin program don't have a start button... im in America btw

Be careful. The most important thing when flashing modems is to ensure you get hold of the correct one for your S3 model, which is different in the US to the International (European) ones.

Where's the US modems? I'm having trouble finding them. Do the i9300 roms work on US modems

Is this the thread you are looking at?

If so then it's only for the international branded phones. Flashing anything from that forum will cock your phone up as it's for the international S3 and international S3 LTE

Yes, that's the correct link for him. But be warned, you must make a EFS partition backup before flashing, especially with the new bootloaders and kernels now out. Even if you flash an old modem after having flashed the latest ones, once your EFS is broken, and you haven't made a backup, then this can be the death of your phone. XDA has lots of info on backing up and restoring EFS.

OK I have made an efs backup. Now when I flash the revolution Hd rom, how do I use the efs backup to get my network back?

You can find instructions and a download link to the Windows software to backup & restore EFS here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308546 - it is easy to use, just locate the *.img file or *.tar file you created with your backup on your PC with the dropdown menu and start the process (should be pretty self-explanatory. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE DEVELOPERS INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO CARRYING OUT THE PROCEDURE!

I think I'm just going to stick with a stock phone cause the efs file breaks every time and the only way to fix it is going back to my back up which is rooted stock. I appreciate al the help, but I don't guess I'm supposed to have a custom rom.
