I think I will just go the tablet route. Mobile data on the tablet, make phone calls via 3rd party app. Text with google voice.

Anybody try Meenova?

It's been confirmed to work with Nexus 5 so I'm giving it a shot. Now my piddly 16GB will be 80 since I still have the micro SD card I got for my Note 3.
 
I am installing 8.1 on my laptop today. I hope it works ok. The inclusion of the Start button sounds wonderful. Windows 8 has really pushed me towards getting a macbook pro for my next laptop. :p

After having my PC get infected with who knows what time after time after time, I finally caved and got the Retina Macbook Pro.

Great laptop, very smooth and responsive. But I still shake my head at Apple's price points. They're ridiculous and completely unjustifiable.

I think we need a third option in the market.
 
I can't get the page to load but on Google forums someone claims they called Verizon and managed to get Verizon to add their N5 imei to the system. Since it isn't loading could mean it is a load bull. Don't know either way.

It's got several people saying that you need to get your a) ESN, b) MEID, c) IMEI numbers into Verizon's system.

The final poster claimed that he succeeded because he got his to come up and say Verizon wireless, but, he has yet to get service because it gave him a bad sim card message. He took it in and was told that the previous rep had put in the wrong MEID for it. Now he's lent the phone out to a family member and will update later.

Nutshell - lotta chatter, lots of theories, no one with a working N5.
 
Hey everyone! Got the Christmas decorations up today, I'm beat!
I watched the end of the Alabama Auburn game. Holy cow, two games in a row with amazing endings to give Auburn the win. I have good friends on both sides, so should be interesting next few days.
