I've been with o2 for years and been happy with the service. I get my broadband cheap as well.

I bought my Desire SIM free and went with a Simplicity deal. There's no difference in doing it that way looking at these tariffs. In fact, I think I save a tenner over 18 months.
 
For the same price, O2 are offering fewer minutes than their competitors, and are also charging for the phone at the
 
Yikes, those are pretty poor deals.

I guess they're aiming at data heads who use FB and VOIP rather than bundled minutes.
 
What O2 do have going for them is, yes, their customer service, I was with them for 3 years and it was always pretty good whenever I had issues.

They are also a home broadband provider and do give discounts on home broadband for their mobile users (it is possible to get a greater discount through haggling). So there is a possbility for an overall saving even though their mobile tariffs are a little expensive.

Lol, I hate it when they say things like this. Reminds me when the guy on the phone at Orange told me I wont get near the 500mb limit they impose, and that i can do lots of internet browsing and checking my emails with that.

Soon put him straight.

Stupid innit. I'm tempted to put it to the test one day.
 
There is no limit though. I asked if it truly was "unlimited" and that was the reply she gave me above.

EDIT: I'm on O2 by the way, I think you've mistaken me for being on Orange. Although reading the thread back, I can see why you thought this lol
 
Have o2 introduced a stated excessive usage policy limit? They don't seem to explicitly state numbers for their data bolt ons. Only that you mustn't use them in a way that impacts others. Although they also say you can't use your sim card to continuously stream video or audio...
 
Pleased I got it on Orange now. I was with O2 before, but I had suspected their deals would be expensive, just like the iPhone tarriffs.
 
o2 offers via so called virtual network operators many different very attractive tariffs for smartphones. Especially the prepaid tariffs offer for users who are staying only for a short period in germany very interesting alternatives - no contract - no monthly fee...

Its a no brainer if you can afford the handset out-right. Otherwise its the opposite.

When I was pricing up the desire handset and giffGaff Vs O2 on an 18 Month contract, they both worked out about the same.

Dont forget on O2 after half the contract, you can drop down

Excuse me for not having large heaps of money lying around to spend in one go. There's a thing called cash flow that I need to take care of. It's the same reason people have deferred payments on things like furniture, TVs, even houses in the form of a mortgage. If you don't have the lump sum up front, you pay slightly more over a long period of time for the sake of keeping your accounts in the green. It's pretty commonplace.
