Root Rooting the Boostmobile zte warp 4g lte model N9510

No...dont do anything else to your phone until know what you are doing or at least have a general idea!
Can you see what is on your external sdcard?

Dog, stop want you are doing and take a little time out and read some material about rooting (zte) phones. If you do not have a cope of your working os on your sd and the rom that you want to flash do nothing.

So I used this root method on a buddys phone... messed his phone up badly, a few hours after the root the screen started glitching, showing random bars across the screen then after locking the phone the screen went black, I was able to wipe the cache and it worked again for a half hour, now the screen stays black and I can't get back into the stock recovery to attempt a factory reset. *update while typing this* it was off all night and it let me get into the recovery mode, did a factory reset, it's of course still rooted, but it's not glitching yet. #hopeful

nobody has a single recommendation about what to do with this? :/ i lost my reciept and no longer have the box for the phone.. I can no longer even get the screen to come on for me to go turn on usb debug so i can install CWM recovery and attempt to flash a rom on it. which is the only thing i can even think to do at this point. Tips or recommendations please?

Plugged it into a charger and everything went crazy :/

Odd as what I'm about to say may sound, thanks to Murphys Law, I promise that I'm not making this up.

When a phone gets squirrely a factory data reset often fixes it by clearing cache, the Dalvik cache, and the user data area - any of which can get corrupted whether you're rooted or not.

Rooting by itself doesn't make the problems more likely.

But - a bad usb/charging cable just might.

I've had cables go bad (don't ask me how, they just do) at the dangest times and a bad one can have you chasing your tail something fierce.

So - try taking out the battery for a good 60 seconds, reset again if you must, and try a new cable. They're only a couple of bucks and either way, good to have.

Hope this helps, post back and let me know how you're making out.

The download is fine..my phone just doesn't want to open it....i believe its because i have the warp 4g and this root if im not mistaken is for the older version...but thanks!
