I am having to get back to 10i. I seem a little confused with that part. I installed the drivers and now my computer doesnt recognize my phone.

so i messed up =( i used the f3 file while tryin to root n now myscreen is blacked out how do i fix this i tried to flash the correct file n it wont connect =( the lg support tool says my phone is the f3 even tho i have f6. can i fix this?

People seem to be doing this a lot try different button combos and plug sub in til it reads it the f3 has different button combos to get to dl mode

Usually the f6 way to get to download mode is vol up and plug in usb but from what I've heard the f3 is different. Download mode allows you to use kdz

I have the LG F6 for T-Mobile.

I updated so I'm using Jelly bean.

software version: D50010h
kernel version: 3.4.0
android version: 4.1.2

will using the instructions here work to root my phone? If so this is what I'm planning to do:

1. Factory reset
2. Follow instructions to root
3. Open lte2recovery.apk from my phone's browser
3 a. Hit recovery apply and then the Reboot button. You should now be booted into Recovery.
3. b. Now that I'm in recovery now what???

If I'm able to root using this method are the steps above ^ the steps I should take? Also, can you tell me more about the recovery step, do I do this right after I rooted or should I restart first? Also, when I'm in recovery for the last step what do I do?

Step 3 and under are not required for root, that's for entering recovery

Thanks. Should I run the recovery afterwards? I'm not really understanding what the recovery part is for. What is a situation that is common when I wish I would of did the recovery step.

Recovery can be used for installing roms and kernels etc.. if you want to flash a kernel you'll need recovery, but for the meantime, don't bother until you learn more about it

This is the thread to flash MetroPCS 12b rooted stock ROM:

http://androidforums.com/metropcs-o...9-wip-rom-flashable-rooted-12b-stock-rom.html

Recovery mode is a different bootup mode to recover your phone if regular startup is corrupted. By installing a custom CWM recovery it allows you to flash ROMs that manufacturers didn't authorize, such as custom or rooted ROMs.

After you flash a MetroPCS ROM, you may need to purchase a $2-3 unlock code on ebay in order for it to work with your TMobile sim card.

Okay, thanks everyone. I have root and I setup link2sd.

Now what about overclocking? What can I use to overclock my LG F6 from T-Mobile?
