If this happens, I'll be breaking open the piggy bank, raiding the couch cushions, bringing back the cans and bottles and setting up a lemonade stand if need be in order to get this phone.
Huh??? That's not the American way.

I don't need the latest and greatest chips and whatnot any more. I would rather have the previous generation working at its best.

I like Samsung about as much as I like Apple.

I almost went with Moto X. Good phone that doesn't have the latest and greatest and they made it work well. End up with G2 anyways.

I was surprised at the lack of incredulity when rumors surfaced that Qualcomm's 800 was going to be the SOC.

I was almost sick to my stomach (yes I need to get a girlfriend) at the notion, despite being certain that said intel was severely off the mark.

I wanted to breathe a sigh of relief when 801 rumors resurfaced, but I had to remind myself that I'd be disheartened if it was the SOC.

Has any flagship ever been released with the SOC in it's predecessor?

Whooaa, these guys are really pushing it hard! The report comes from Korean news site ETNews, re-reported in English by gforgames.
According to news coming from LG’s homeland (that’s Korea by the way), the LG G3 has entered mass production and is getting ready for the big day. These fresh reports are also indicating that LG’s sales target for the G3 is set at 10 million units, which is quite ambitious given the company’s earlier struggles to push its flagship phones to the masses.

I think this means we forego the Snapdragon 805, but I sure hope not.

Welp... the s5 went back on sale for 99.00. So, do I get them for me and the fam? Do I get the fam the s5 and me the g3? Stay tuned.

Glossy looking plastic and speaker on the back... meh. But yippee for thin bezels and a compact looking device.

Edit:

How did I manage to miss Halon's post above? Too much excitement? Was I looking at a version of the page cached in my browser?

Gsmarena.com's turn around the rumor mill today has been provided by tipster "Mitsurugi." They can confirm:
  • It will have a 5.5” QHD display (2560 x 1440 pixels) with 534ppi pixel density.
  • The G3 will have a slightly larger footprint than the G2, but it will be slimmer.
  • The G3 will come in two versions, 16GB with 2GB of RAM, 32GB with 3GB of RAM.
  • Both versions will be graced with an SD card slot.
  • 3,000mAh battery
  • The rear-mounted speaker will deliver 1W output.
This picture goes along with the article, which looks identical to the backside picture in phonearena.com's article above:

They confirm everything except what I really want to know, what processor?

Also, knowing how much Verizon hates on board storage, my guess is that they'll carry only the 16/2 version. The 16 doesn't matter, since it has SD support, but the 3 GB of RAM would be nice.

Anyone play with a G Pro 2? I guess that has the same speaker as the G3.

I need to find a Pro 2 to compare to the G2.
