Removable battery?

Sweet. It doesn't factor into my criteria, but sweet nonetheless. If true.

Verizon, please do the right thing and make the 32/3GB version available, and not days, weeks, or months after the 16/2GB version.

Hopefully the G3 comes in one flavor for ram (3GB), regardless of storage version.

  • The G3 will have a slightly larger footprint than the G2, but it will be slimmer.

I thought that looked to be the case when I saw that pic last night.

I'm guessing the US variants will all have 32 GB memory although with the external sdcard on the table, I suppose I could be wrong on that.

One thing we've learned...sdcards can't do everything that internal storage can do as per limitations by the newer OS's. So for my money, with these huge roms and apps getting bigger by the day, a 32 GB internal storage is an absolute must.

As a point of reference on my 32 GB G2, my stock rom is currently about 3.5 GB in size. I have diddly squat on my phone's sdcard save one single solitary nandroid backup and I'm down to 17.7 GB free.

I think that "removable" wording on the paper might be talking about either an sdcard, or its wrong. I can't imagine this battery being removable but never know I guess.

Crappy glossy plastic back = removable battery, from my experience. I'm ready to arm wrestle you over it for the win, fyi. :)

Also guys, you have rumors of octo cores and wrap around screens in the rumor mill. Exciting stuff. At this point, if I wait around because of all the promise of new tech, I could get my next phone in 2020.

No arm wrestle necessary oh brother of mine:

G2 battery = non-removable. :p

All signs point to the 801, ergo, I've resigned myself accordingly.

Question: can a performance difference be discerned between the 801 and a SoC on the level of the 805 via routine tasks?

If I purchase the G3 it will be at retail.
It will be my second smartphone, and the first that I pay for. My Galaxy S4 was a gift.

As a matter of principle I find the prospect of buying a flagship that does not have the latest SoC vexatious.

Anyone care to assuage my disconsolation?

At the launch of the G3 later this month, the 801 will be the latest and greatest. The 805 isn't going to make an appearance until what, 3Q2014? If you don't mind waiting, you might hold out for the Nexus 6 which will have not only the 805 and the next iteration of Android. It will be based on the G3 but will be less expensive.

Still doesn't look plastic to me.

On that pic, I agree, it looks like brushed aluminum. But we also have the newest pic which seemed a white plastic to me.

Then again...were they trying to tell us something with the background on that pic? Makes one wonder.

801...805...doesn't matter. It will be a great either way.

Agreed.

But the problem would be 2k display ,I don't think 2k on the adreno 330 would be a good idea battery + performance would suffer a lot adreno 330 is best for FHD display or less.
If they go for S805(that is adreno 420) (or use a fhd display instead of 2k) then I'll be interested.

With my G2, at least a full days use and 5hrs or more screen time. I'm sure G3 will improve on that no matter which chip.

I see that you are passionate about the latest and greatest on the inside. Personally, I just don't care anymore and won't comment on it anymore.

Cheers :)

Its not about latest and greatest like I said I am happy with even a FHD screen if they are using s801 but if they are using QHD screen (I.e GPU had push more pixels ) then s801 will not be enough,S805 WILL be needed.

If I'm getting this phone, this would definitely be the color I want.
