Not much wider. A bit taller which I don't necessarily need but good looking size imo.

Now Phone Arena's saying this: This HAS to be true. Thanks, Jeyd02, for the link above.

You got that in wrong order. They said that 9 days ago and now saying it's 801 from insider.

But like everyone here, I really hope it's wrong info probably from proto-type. Or it could be there are two versions as some rumors and that guy just saw lower model.

By way of comparison, the HTC One M8 is about the same height as the G3.

G2: 5.45 x 2.79
G3: 5.83 x 2.98
M8: 5.76 x 2.78

So the G3 will be a fuzz taller than the M8 but I don't think by a visibly noticeable amount unless holding them against each other of course. Just mentioning that for those who have held an M8 for the purpose of a mental reference.

To me, the M8 feels a little too tall for it's width. I can't help but think adding that extra 0.2" to the G3's width will make the form factor about ideal (or at least how I perceive the ideal length to width ratio).

My hope for the 805 is primarily fueled by Qualcomm's January statement to a Japanese publication that the first 805 device will arrive in May of this year.

The way I see it? It is what it is. Their decision is made as to which processor they're going to use and there's nothing we can do about it. The phones are probably already in the boxes with their chosen specs. When the 27th comes, we make our decisions based upon what we can and can't live with.

My guess is that if it is feasible to use the 805 they will, otherwise it will be the 801. I don't think this will come down to an LG decision, just timing. I, for one, would rather have a G3 with an 801 in June than one with an 805 in September. I really doubt there will be much (if any) discernible difference in performance between the two.

But either way, like Steven58 said, the decision has already been made, so Tweeting LG with threats is fruitless.

I totally disagree. The threats made me feel better about life for a few minutes. :p

Xperia Z2 would probably give the closest reference in proportion to the G3 (aside from the thickness, which it seems the G3 will be more than all the super phones):

5.78 x 2.89 x 0.32 inches (146.8 x 73.3 x 8.2)

You know, the Z2 is probably be best comparison phone for the G3 all around. I was sold on the Z2 (assuming it came to VZW) until I started looking into the G3. Now if the Z2 had an 805..... ;)

If Sony had shrunk the bezels (like LG) and squeezed a 5.5 screen into the Z2, I think they could've been a major competitor this year. I've always liked Sony's phone form factor, but unfortunately I have to stay on Sprint (due to coverage at my house), so I've never really given them a fair look.

Looking at the Z2's dimensions, it gives me a very close idea of the overall physical dimensions of the G3.

Actually, just looking through different phones from the past, the original Note is another one to get an overall idea of the size as well:

5.78 x 3.27 x 0.38 inches (147 x 83 x 9.65 mm)

Height is close to the G3, width is much wider than what the G3 will be, and thickness is the closest I've found so far. Of course, this is all based on the dimensions that had been given for the Isai, which I'm still yet to find definitive info on the G3 dimensions. gsmarena had the Isai FL picture on there (for the G3), so I'm basing everything purely on that (for now).

Cool. I haven't seen one being on vzw. Do any other carriers have it where I can see one?

edit: google search said its not stateside yet?

Ok so based on drexappeal's noting that the Xperia Z2 is approximately our baby (if the leaked specs are right), this gives us a pretty close idea of what we're dealing with:

Xperia-Z2-vs-GS5-and-HTC-One-M8_3-640x424.jpg

left to right: One M8 > Xperia Z2 > SG5

The SG5 is just slightly taller and wider than the G2 but very close and it follows a similar length to width ratio as the G2. That gives us a close idea of the size increase we would see in visual terms.

However...the Z2 doesn't have very rounded corners and imo, more aggressive rounding on the corners make a phone feel smaller. So I think the G3 will LOOK smaller than the Z2 remembering our pic...

Here is the thing. 805 to be prepared for the day of manufacturing. While they are using 801 models for test. We will all see it in may 27.

I expect the actual store availability date will be mid June. I don't expect LG to copy HTC's same day availability.

At least we'll know what we're dealing with, that's the beauty of it. Seems almost strange to say but we're only 11 days away from knowing all. :)

I have a G2 and really like it. I have it set up exactly as I want it. My battery lasts all day and then some. The screen is great, etc. I was excited by the G3 news, but I am thinking that if it is announced with the 801 processor, I might wait a couple of months until they put an 805 in it, ala Galaxy S5 prime. You just know LG is not going to let Samsung put an 805 in and not them. I sure hope I don't have to activate my plan and the G3 comes with the 805. Qualcomm was sampling the 805 in November. Unless there is a big problem, that is enough time to produce the 805 in volume for a late May-June release.
