Root [DISCONTINUED] SimplicityXL {Updated 5/17/14}

May have found a bug. Im not going to do any tested. Because id rather it not happen again. Heres what happen. I went to bed at 3 am last night after moving rooms around in my house. I dont have a bed side table set up right now. I plugged my phone in and set it on the floir at tje foot of my bed. I also forgot to turn the flashlight off. Sofe time during the night a pillow fell on my phone. I woke up at. Noon. To a pop up messege talking about my phone beign to hot and how it was going to shut its self off. It never turned itself off. I got the measege again 5 minutes later. But the phone still didnt shut its self down. I dont know if this is normal. Because ive never seen this pop up before

that sounds more like an LG stock ROM thing if you ask me.

Keep up the good work man I love this ROM has so many cool features. I was wondering are you looking to do something cool with the LG Volt? I think Kit Kat based Simplicity would be awesome!

Thanks. If you mean whether i'll copy the volt rom and make the optimus f7 a kitkat simplicity ROM No. There no need for that since we'll be getting official kitkat from LG within the next few weeks, after we get official kitkat i'll rebuild simplicity on top of it. If you meant whether i'll do a ROM or some cool stuff for the LG Volt, no. At least not without the phone that i have no plans to buy.

Well my friend if you need anything let me know I will be getting that phone here pretty soon. I will still keep my F7 so can't wait for Kit Kat, now with Kit Kat will be able to install apps to the SD card?

chev can you add l2cap to the bluetooth stack in the kernal pretty please I think this would fix all my bluetooth problems. Id do it but i have no ideal how to modify and compile a kernel

Dunno how to enable it, what bluetooth problems you having?

its not your roms fault its lg from what ive read they crippled some stuff in the bluetooth stack. if not sure if l2cap is hidden or completly removed. alot of hid bluetooth devices will not work right like hid bluetooth game pads or wii remote. ive been trying to figure out why my green throttle atlas controler would not work on this phone but would work on a s3 for a few months now. so i baught another gamepad. this one has a switch for hid gamepad or keyboard. the keyboard mode works ok in retro emulators etc but will not work in android games that support gamepads like grand theft auto 3. game play is why i went with this phone and with out l2cap i cant do what i want. l2cap is sulposedly included in aosp

L2CAP
L2CAP is a packet-based protocol that can be configured with varying levels of reliability. L2CAP actually serves as the transport protocol for RFCOMM, so every RFCOMM connection is actually encapsulated within an L2CAP connection.

l2cap started beign broken/disabled in android 4.2

as far as I can tell L2CAP is in our kernel but not enabled which takes a while and even longer since I dunno how lol. sorry my kernel modifying is extremely limited.

Well if i use certain apps i can get the hid mode to connect. But nothing happens theres no output. With out the app the controler. Pairs. But does not connect. The settings menu says. Tap any key to reconnect but it dosent. So it gets paired but the connecting gets denied for some reason.. l2cap is enabled in some. Cm roms. Cm10 on my zte warp connects. To the atlas controler but dosent do anything. I have tested my new one on my warp yet. I have tesyed both on my wifes rooted stock f7. With the same problems

the rom is nice ,lower the lowest brightness overclocked and undervoltage
but some apps cant run maybe the cache is occupied by swap ,is there a way to turn it off

well i know the reason, the app use hardware decode as default , i change it to software decode it runs well, but on stock rom it can hardware decode, what is the reason?

Can't really tell ya cause I have no idea but I'm pretty certain that swap isn't the reason it won't run on hardware decode. I change a lot of things to make this ROM what it is today and anyone of those changes could of very well be the reason why it won't run on hardware decode.

but if you want to go ahead and try to turn off swap and prove me wrong 50/50 shot lol. Use es file explorer and travel to /system/etc/init.d and deleted the swap file inside. then reboot to recovery and wipe cache and reboot.

Yes. I am trying to save internal space. But some how i missed that its on the cache partion. S. Moving it wouldnt help clear accesiable space right?
