Glad you are all okay, huh. Sounds crazy. At least you have a cool story to tell and you lived to tell the tale!:p

Reactions: huh
I was 15 the first time I saw the point of contact with lighting, and it quickly dispelled the lightning doesn't strike twice myth. I was sitting on the back patio of my aunt and uncles house in Pennsylvania. The door to the house behind me was locked. Lightning struck the transformer in the alley roughly 200 feet from where I was sitting. I don't know if it was seconds or milliseconds, but I felt tingling on all the hair on my body. The instant it hit was chaotic, light and sound beyond what you can imagine. Those two senses so overwhelmed you don't feel anything else. I immediately leaped out of the chair I was sitting in and was attempting to sprint the 60' or so to the unlocked door to the inside of the house. I was about halfway when lightning struck the same transformer a second and third time. I was facing it and could see it right in front of me. The whole episode, from the first strike to me being in the house couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 seconds, but I remember it in frames like a movie.

The only other time I saw lighting strike I was in a carport at my second house. Again, the hair on my body felt weird, the light and sound was off the charts, and something hit me in the leg. It was a chunk of ceramic from the transformer it hit. It was roughly 400 feet from me and more or less level with where I was standing (my house sat about 40' above road level). My wife at the time was standing to my left (she was 110 pounds soaking wet) and was nearly knocked off of her feet.

Both times I've seen it the lightning was blue / purple / white. Supposedly there is a difference between that and red lightning. I don't know as I haven't seen red hit. All I do know is I am not going to go out of my way to see lightning strike.

My brother was struck by lightning... if he got any super powers it must have been the ability to be a total a-hole at will.

I'll take that into consideration...sounds..promising!:):p:p although more like a lifestyle choice rather than a super power...but ..still..it takes some skills... so...:D

my hair stood on end too!! not crazy like the hair on my head in space..more like static electricity...and the light was a blinding pure white..and a sonic boom! yikes!

anywhooppy
I'm fine,,,
NBD:)

now on to that super power....

Hrm... what would be a cool superpower huh could have.

If we exclude the obvious-- super speed, healing, invulnerability, flying, psychic...

I know! Huh now can tell when a fruit is ripe, just by looking at it.

That's a super power, for sure!

I always wanted invisibility. But if it had to be relatively useless I'd like to be able to accurately predict the weather. To make it less useful my predictions would be wrong if I shared the information with anyone

Not sure if it qualifies as a super power, but check out the description of this graphic novel I just got. I haven't read it yet, but I just had to order it when I read the description lol.

Amazon.com: Sex Criminals Volume 1 TP (9781607069461): Matt Fraction, Chip Zdarsky: Books
Suzie's just a regular gal with an irregular gift: when she has sex, she stops
time. One day she meets Jon and it turns out he has the same ability. And
sooner or later they get around to using their gifts to do what we'd ALL do: rob
a couple banks. A bawdy and brazen sex comedy for comics begins here, by
Matt Fraction (Satellite Sam, Hawkeye) and Chip Zdarsky (Prison Funnies,
Monster Cops). Named one of Time Magazine's top 10 graphic novels for 2013.

I'm sure huh could do something with that. ;):p

Ooh!, maybe you have the same superpower I do: I can dodge lightning!

Seriously, I've experienced at least seven or eight near-misses since I was a child (including that time when my brother was hit instead).

Of course, I lived in Florida, the lightning capitol of the country.

Yes!!That's it!!!

Im thinking if we could harness this energy.....to do our bidding....

uh oh....no more words!!!!

we will have to come up with a secret lair ..and talk in pig latin...

Soozie...Soozie...oh no, I can't stop! :p

Now I'm picturing Rocky-era Sylvester Stallone..."Yo, Soozy, get ova here."

I just switched to using the swift keyboard. Many may have noticed that when I try to type the word and the word abd would come up and that really annoys me. Swift key changes that so when I type fast it changes that also I really like that I can change the themes of the keyboard to make it match my phone better. Green and Forrest is a great color to fit my moto g

The weatherman here are notoriously wrong ;)

When I was young, the most accurate weatherguesser was the paper delivery guy-- if the paper was wrapped in plastic, it would definitely rain that day.
