Root [DISCONTINUED] SimplicityXL {Updated 5/17/14}

Thank you for the simplicity ROM, it works amazingly. The only thing that I noticed is that my data connection has stopped working, 3G and 4G. Any advice?
 
Good thing. You. Posted before me chev i was going to say read the thread. Not remember. The wording of your orginal post. But maybe if you have not you should. Add how to fix 3g. 4g. In your first post

Yeah i know i've been trying to add it to the FAQ post but too lazy lol.
 
hey chev, i can't re download your rom until i go to my girlfriends in a few days. I don't have enough data on my mifi to do that. Is the playful God version of cwm good to load 2.0? and I'll buy you a beer if you send me something to enable init.d support on my phone and a list of a few init. d scripts to make my phone run better until i get the rom. i have the app init. d toggler which may enable init. d but I'm not sure exactly how to install the scripts and I'm pretty sure you need to switch a bunch of permissions for them to work right? I don't have much money on my card now but i do have enough to buy you a beer and tomorrow i get money and I'll donate ten bucks also. please Reply soon while i have the energy to do this stuff on my phone.
thanks buddy you're a great help to all of us. one more question. do you still use the f7? I think it's an amazing phone. Just has some things set up to make it difficult to hack

No you'll have to flash one my recoveries found here, its ok if you use 2nd init or Pg's cwm to flash my recovery then flash the ROM whenever you can. Make sure you're on Version ZV5 first. Easy way to get init.d working is to root the phone, then download the Universal Init.d app and follow the instructions, super easy. As for init.d scripts i'll pm you zip with a few i have. Yes i still have my F7, its my daily phone for right now
 
ty do want me to send the couple dollars for the beer now or wait until tomorrow until i have enough on my card to send the whole donation? where do i send it to and also is init.d toggler sufficient for me to install the scripts and the version of BusyBox i have is 1404344506226.jpg. I'm already supersu with xposed framework and where do i put the scripts and how do i activate then. put them in that etc folder then reboot? ty

Doesnt really matter when, my donation link is PayPal Link thanks. Use the app i said and not the init.d toogler. install busybox again to make sure you're on an update or recent version.
 
SOMEONE HELP QUICK! I did everything verbatim of what chev said to do. I installed the new recovery using the pgcwm I already had. But when I rebooted and went into recovery again the cwm looked the exact same. Then I wiped cache and flashed the rom and everything went ok until the end when it sstarted settingn permissions and then it said some permissions failed. Reboot and enjoy! So I rebooted now Im stuck on the lg screen with a flashing lcd. What do I do?!? Reboot into recovery again and recover my latest nandroid back up ? Or do a wipe data/factory reset and try to reinstall the rom? I need help quick.
 
Im restoring nandroid backup, Im going to try again, next time should I wipe data/factory reset first? This happens every time with the permissions. What is going on? I never had this problem when I first installed the roms. Oh man I hope this works out. I really need help quick before my battery dies. Im doing the nandroid recovery. It said checking md5 sums... Erasing boot before restore... Restoring boot image... Restoring system... Restoring data...
and by the way it sayd CWM-based Recovery v6.0.4.8
Is that the right one?

Ok this time I reinstalled the 2nd init recovery, went to flash zw5cwm , wiped cache, wiped data, installed simplicityv2 and it set up everything through the aroma installer and at the end it said some permissions failed and Im stuck at the lg screen again.
I guess I give up until there is a more stable version up. Can you send me a few apps that I can put on the rooted factory rom that will alow wireless tether as well as set the clock cpu? And show me how any build.prop should be adjusted? Ill install the init.d apps again and then Ill pay you ten bucks for the apps. Ill just remove the bloatware and system apps myself. But I dont know how to deodex the rom, but I do have the script for zipalign init.d. Please reply soon Im going to do a reset and restore my nandroid backup again. Ive tried this like eight times in the past few weeks with the same results every time. There is something defective in the zip at the beginning of the thread.

Really looks like you have some good work here. I really want to install this but keep panicking because, while having an Optimus F7, I do not have one on boost or US cellular. I have my phone though a small carrier Thumb Cellular.

The model number on mine is the AS870 4g. Anyone here, or the dev, have suggestions for installing this on my phone?

This ROM is strictly for the LG Optimus F7, Your model number indicates that your phone is a LG Optimus "F5" not "F7" and is no where near compatible to your device.
 
Help! It wont let me install and i did a factory reset! I keep getting "file_getprop: failed to stat "/system/build.prop": No such file or directory"
