Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Yeah, in the Philippines I rarely saw anything bigger than a 150(well, 155, as the Honda TMX came). They were used for both regular riding and the more commonly seen tricycle. There were quite a few knockoffs too.

The only time I've ever ridden a motorcycle was while I was there, it was a Honda Wave, which is a little 125 cc underbone style bike.
 
We took the 1500 Nomad on many a trip. The Orientals loved the thing. I have a picture of the Vulcan and the bike surrounded by a busload of Japanese tourists. All we heard was KAWASAKI!!! and they rushed over to the bike instead of looking at Canyonlands.

Another morning I caught a couple of Taiwanese dudes photographing each other on the 1500. They were careful when they did it. They also said they could not afford anything like the 1500 in Taiwan and they took the pictures in the way to make them look "baddest"
 
B&Ns Nook store is crap...

I try to go to the 'Fiction' section, and all I get is the same group of evolution books.

I'm not even going to spend the rest of my $5 coupon from B&N, I've bought three books, and I am done.

I have a Nook and refuse to use B&N. Do a search - I've used Booksamillion, and if you like Sci-fi, there's Baen and Double Dragon.

While expensive, if you want O'reilly books, they have a website:

Thanks! I went to B&N because the book I wanted was on sale with them but not Amazon.

Not that I like Amazon that much, I go where the deals are.

Of my favorite author sells from their own site, then I happily throw an extra dollar or two their way.
 
Every 6 months of working at McDonalds we are suppose to get a review on our performance at work. With our new manager I was hoping for a good raise and a good review because this manager is better than the last one that got fired.

Though she is better than the last one she still sucks.

Here's what she is doing. I rarely ever work with her. Generally when I do its in between shifts, I start at 4 she leaves at 405.

What she did was she decided to do a review on all 60 employees by herself. All by her self which is completely unfair because what is suppose to go down is all the managers are suppose to get together and have a meeting for the review on employees or Crew.

That way it's fair. I mainly work with 3 different managers during the week. I'm fairly sure that other managers would give me a better review than her. Average for everything. I mean I'm not mad and I didn't get a bad review like my coworker who quit because of this matter but what gets me upset is that she's not doing her job correct according to the policy. It's not fair.

McDonalds already deprives us of the bare minimum to live in society today. Many workers need to work at 2 locations just to keep food on the table.

When I see her again I am going to complain about this matter. Of course I'll video record this, like my coworker did.

Anyone know HRs number?

How can she evaluate your work when you never work together? I agree that doesn't seem fair.
 
I would talk to her and pin her down but play dumb.. :) tell her you have tried to go above and beyond .. Give her some examples.. Tell her you noticed she only gave you average and ask her why and what she sees that you could be doing differently to improve.. And then ask what the other managers input was... So you can learn from the feedback and strive to improve .. See what she says:) sometimes it's very smart... To know when to play dumb
 
US Postal Service has apparently lost an order of prints that included a Giclee Watercolor. They are CONSTANTLY losing my stuff, folding prints in half, and ruining books and CD's.
 
No, I am slightly more successful than my own parents were. I am stricter, but I get overridden by my wife, who babies them overly much.

Paula Abdul comes to mind; what about the recently released bootleg recording of Britney Spears caterwauling obscene dissonant notes? For trivia buffs: the original pitch correction software was created by a company who went by the name Antares; apparently, they're still alive as a computer plug-in for everything from Cubase to ProTools recording software. They even overuse the plug-in to make even talented vocalists like Usher sound like they're using a vocoder effect; an effect created in the 1980s where a mic is connected to a keyboard synthesizer and the synth tones were modulated by even a spoken voice... as a musician who came of age between the 1960s and 1970s, the old adage still stands: either you 'got it', or you don't... many performers of the present time don't... I heard the Brittany tape!!! It is awful!! She is a BAD singer.. Not bad for a singer.. But bad for anybody! I can't believe how bad... I guess it doesn't matter as long as you can lip sinc

Ugh, I should have stayed in bed. I'm operating on 3 hours of sleep right now, plagued with computer issues on my job, and I just can't focus on my work. I think I'll call it a half-day today.

Rant time. I was trying to get out the door to go perform as a busker (street musician) today, and countless things happened that prevented it. Dogs getting loose, boxes that had been forgotten to be unloaded from the car to create sufficient room for the musical gear to fit, and more. I missed my opportunity to catch the lunch crowd, and I'm financially in need... well, I guess I'll just have to try harder this weekend. Being disabled, I try to figure out ways to survive, as I've found out that getting Social Security Disability is very difficult. I'm still trying, though. May this weekend be productive and fruitful, and may anyone who took the time to read this rant have a good weekend.

She is soooooo beautiful..... and it does not grind my gears i guess..... but knowing she got some body else rips me apart a heck of a lot....

not only that but i have always struggled to hide my emotions.... sometimes when i smile she sees right ******* through me dang freaking nab it....

NOT BEING ABLE TO HIDE MY TRUE FEELINGS ******* MEGA SUPER GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRINDS MY GEARS
