Root [Sprint] (L720t) Odin & TWRP stock

Any and all aosp ROM bud.. This is CyanogenMod, pacman, eclipse, slim and heck I even got an old 4.2.2 miui for the i9505 (modded myself to work) and it worked without a problem. This was on the miui kernel for the i5905.

I have had hotspot on every ROM I've flashed as far as I can recall. I had it on Super S4 and Negalite. They worked perfect. But yeah like Dais said: every AOSP ROM should have it built in. That's what I love about those ROMs.

See that's the problem. I hate aosp ROMs lol. I like my touch wiz. Unfortunately none of those, save a few, have the native hotpot. Gonna try pacman, think I did eclipse and either didn't like it or it didn't work.

Speak of the devil.. Lol I'm trying to port eclipse to our device. Its only been built for the at&t version.. So I surely hope you didn't flash it.. Lol I'm sure it wouldn't have worked..

Side note.. I did tether to PC with stock.. Didn't ask me to pay... Just .. Well worked. On unrooted stock.. Still waiting for that tells all bill though...

I'm not crazy about aosp ROMs but I DO like the fact that it frees up a ton of space. I like the touch whiz ROMs but sometimes I need extra space for games and music.

Might have been why it did work haha. No I think I saw it on the list and saw it wasnt on the sprint. I have plenty of space what I hate is how they like to theme shit and I can't change it. Also the persistent home and back buttons at the bottom

Themes for the win! You can theme the heck out of aosp ROMs! On my recent CM 11 I had a cool Android L theme

What's up guys? Dais I went to finally flash that pacman ROM and it failed....and it has bricked my device! (Just kidding! Lol) No but really the flash did fail. I'm using the latest version of TWRP. I reverted to my slimkat backup ;) What recovery are you using bro? Might that have something to do with it?

Idk what you did man. I flashed the pacman ROM and it worked fine. I personally didn't like it and I'm currently on AICP and its pretty good so far. Been at work all day so haven't really been able to tweak.

I'm trying to figure if it was a bad download or what...how's the battery life of AICP? This slimkat ROM I'm on has really good battery life. Icons are small but still its a decent ROM.

Its OK. Think slimkat is better. I like slimkats small icons actually, just certain things I don't like about it. Haven't found an aosp ROM with everything I need yet.

I hear you. Know what would be cool? - if we had the ability to cook our own ROM. I pick up the Android magazines when I go out at the book store and I've read about Android Kitchen software where you can build your own ROM. I think? Or maybe its called something else. Anyways, point is that a ROM built by you or me to our exact specs would be so cool. When I get my hands on a PC I want to do something like that! :D

It's the hardest thing to do when it comes to android. I've built one rom. And gave up. I'll come back to it when I have the free time/patience.
First you'd very much lessen the stress if you would get a Linux machine.. with either gnome or red hat. The windows OS has no support for androids Linux kernel bases..
Next get familiar with command prompts and JavaScript/Java. Kernels are written in C+ or C++. And downloading the source takes hours. Even pulling from the repository. Than syncing the whole thing before and after building.
There is an android theme kitchen. Dakra. But to my knowledge there's no insta rom maker..

$15?! Dang! Awesome deal on that bro! I went into a few pawn shops in my town and cheapest laptop I found was an old worn looking Acer for $50 :( I'm going to keep looking for a solid laptop or desktop in other shops. I've also gone on craigslist looking specifically for Linux machines.

Regarding what you said about building ROMs and stuff: I've got a ton of respect for the work you've done recently. I wouldn't know what the heck to do to build ROMs and stuff lol! I wouldn't know where to begin! What impresses me is these little nerds who build ROMs in their basements and they're actually pretty solid. It's a talent and you're right: I'm sure it takes a lot of patience to test and stuff. Do you have any idea of what these groups like Cyanogenmod, Slim Rom etc make off donations and stuff for their hard work? I know cyanogenmod is now growing so I can see them making good money but what about other devs?

firstly.. what area are you in. I'll get you a great deal. ;) secondly.. I have no idea how much.. but I'm sure they survive nicely. :)

Dont mean to throw yall off topic of cheap laptops but, im running the latest aokp rom and its got almost everything i need. Except theres no sound when i plug in my charger and the sound is to low. Which brings me to my question, do you guys know of a sound booster for our phone. I checked around and found a couple that work. The problem comes from when i hook up my mhl hdmi adapter. It freezes my phone and i have to remove the battery. Back to stock volume now but i havent been able to find anything, any ideas or links?

I have not personally used sound boosters so I don't have much of an input :( sorry buddy. Where is Dais? I emailed him but didn't get a reply.

This is my backup account by the way ;)

I found one. I'm running sokp and flashed a touchwiz moderate volume booster. Works fine and let's me use my mhl. I suggest trying this Rom, has everything I need. There was an issue with my data connection and you have to mess with the apns. And Facebook and my jorte calendar are being dicks. But it runs just fine.

Sounds like a good fit for you! :)
I hate messing with APN settings/data settings. It's bad enough I barely have patience when it comes to waiting for my mobile data to connect after flashing a ROM like Slimkat lol. Thanks for keeping this thread going. I was out yesterday after jackroo account was suspended but I'm glad to be back under this account :) I still want to be active on here

Yea I hate messing with stuff after a flash just to get the basics like and whatnot. First time I flashed it I didn't kno I didn't have data. The gf was not happy when I wasn't responding for a few hours. But I think I'm done flashing for awhile after this one, it's got everything I need. Even got the native hotspot going.

Scratch that, it didn't have the long press menu option to kill the app you're.
