Unofficial Incredible Wallpaper Thread

Obsessed with Miranda Kerr so i did what I could with this and one of the other images someone posted!
 
960x480 or whatever it is...

I downloaded the picture of the android with Inredible icon on it (like Mr. Incredible) and the picture itself was nice and sharp.

When I choose Set As > Wallpaper .. it wants me to crop the photo, but the crop by can't be stretched to contain the entire image.

Once two sides of the crop box reach the edges of the image, it's as if the box is trying to maintain a square aspect ratio. I can't stretch all four edges of the box to contain the image.

Any ideas?

I've hated the stupid crop box since I started using Android a while back. Try an app called Wallpaper Set and Save which lets you set the whole picture as the wallpaper without cropping. All you have to do is set up which folder to look for files in on your SD. ;)

Ok, I downloaded this app and it's nice, but when I set new wallpaper it still enlarges the image and doesn't use the image at native resolution.

Any ideas? This is really bugging me because I think it's possible to do what I want but not sure how to do it.

Yes, I know you can "resize" the green crop arrows on the stock android wall paper tool, but that still means I have to crop a square image and the image will be enlarged when used as my background.

I want to use the image "as is." Many of the images posted here are the required dimensions, but you still can't use the entire image as the background.

UPDATE:

I downloaded Wallpaper Set & Save and I still have the same issue. The program will enlarge the image and make it pixelated.

Learned this from another thread. You just have to put your finger on the corner of green crop rectangle to bring out "zoom in/out" icon. Then just expand it all the way. 960x800 fits perfectly.
 
also. if you guys are looking for wallpapers you can just use wallbase.net to search for one and use GIMP or whatever you use for photo editing to resize them to 960x800 that's what I'm doing I'm rotating between the playground one I posted earlier Star Wars and a Penelope Cruz wallpape
 
I'm loving some of the live wallpapers I have downloaded on the market (like Shake Them All). Maybe we should spin off a separate thread for live wallpapers. I think they are a lot of fun, but of course not everyone wants to deal with the battery/processor use.

Hell I love Live Wallpapers. Its a distinguishing factor of the phone. Sadly, the means of making them is something I am not all too familiar with, being of a completely different sort, but I am looking into it.

In the meanwhile, I can still resize most images to fit as your wallpaper. Feel free to ask here, or to PM me. Just list the size you want.

I'm slowly going to port over some wallpapers from a site I own to mobile size. This was my first "test" wallpaper and thought I'd share. The site is comic book related.

Shouldn't we be able to use a different wallpaper for each screen? I have the Yankee Stadium and it looks great, but I'd love to use other pics for other screens. Is this possible and I'm just missing something?

I do have one (I think it's Hal), but not of the recent darkest night event. I'll see what I can do.
