Yeah, that's exactly what I meant.
That file puts the otacerts.zip back into the ROM, so if your phone gets the OTA, it will not continuously download it (a ~60MB file).
You can then accept the file, recovery will block it, and go on with your life
@droidftw - install it with ROM manager 'Install ROM from SD card'
ok i applied the otafix and it hasnt given me the update notification im running b themed with nextheme not ur rom
Once you accept it you can the flash back to Clockwork and the phone will still know not to download the update again? How does that work?Yeah, that's exactly what I meant.

yep and i just downloaded th update from droid-life.com should i rename it to ocerts.zip or whatever it is?
so do i change the otafix zip to update zip and apply it that way and it goes where it should? and this can be used with regular beast v1?
i put on the OTAfix and nothing yet . although i wasnt getting any warning BEFORE the fix anyway, so i have nothing to compare it to . the system update menu tells me i have the latest update .
if something pops up and tells me to update what should i do ?
damn mediafire not working
NO! Do not ever install that update. The point of the ota fix was so that if you ever got this update, you phone would only download it once, instead of looping over and over again, draining battery and wasting bandwidth.
If you get it, you can just accept it. I'm pretty sure that both Clockwork and SPRecovery will block it. Then, it won't bother you again.
i really dont understand what you are saying . maybe cuz i am new to the update system though. first you say:
then you say:
your telling me to accept it? but didnt u just say to never install it ? are they two different things . sorry . i just dont understand wat you mean
as of now, i have not any any pop ups about the download. i have installed the otcfix . and nothing has changed on my phone since. still no popup about the download.
OP has been updated with OTA fix:
This is for people who are getting bad battery life because their phones keep redownloading the ota.

Quick question about the scripts. Does the free memory script mean shouldn't run auto killer?
Day 2 with this ROM, and I still am unable to push HL2(themed), have it d/l on sd card. Using android terminal, and followed instructions in OP. What else can I try?
as far as i know fab is working on it. But yeah awol still. Is MMS still not working?
Anyone else getting horrible download speeds?
Speedtest shows 172kb down,700kb up

I viewed the 'Pete' script in /system/xbin and it includes more than his setcpu settings. It also uses busybox apparently to kill many of the startup apps that are unnecessary. Do you really want to lose that function?Pete's instructions in the BBV1.0 OP say that you don't need to run autokiller. Free50mb script runs by default, as I understand it.
And by the way, if you're going to run SetCPU for the profiles, you might want to delete the "pete" script from xbin: [ROM] Bugless Beast V1.0 ESE81

I've deleted that file from xbin now, because I definitely want to have SetCPU run my profiles and this will eliminate any opportunity for conflicts.
