Do you have automated external defibrillators in public places (a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses the life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias of ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia in a patient, and is able to treat them through defibrillation)?
They tell you step by step what to do. Every nutcase can do that.

I think in Europe, AEDs are fairly common, certainly seen notices for them in railway stations, airports, shopping malls, factories, offices, etc. I've yet to see evidence of one in China though. I think even staff training in basic first-aid is rare as well here.

I thought of this, because I was in the local department store yesterday, where I'm known, and one of the security guards beckons me over, and there's an associate laying on the floor, she was making a lot noise and was clearly in distress. I'm really the only westerner here, who's known to many in this city, They assumed I might know what to do. Everyone was just standing around. Fortunately I do, and deduced it was very likely a sprained or twisted ankle. It wasn't life threatening, but call 120(medical emergency number) and get an ambulance. I had first-aid training for various jobs when I was in the UK, but I'm not certified for anything now. I don't think the department store has anyone formally certified in first-aid, not even sure what the law is about that in China, or if it's enforced or not.

Unfortunately, I'll be inside an auditorium watching about 20 middle schools compete in a band competition...My poor 12 yo son came down with a bad cold yesterday..he looked so sick this morning..but he is rallying for his band mates...he said "Mom I HAVE to go..the only way I could miss it is if I was on deaths door I'm first chair! (and he gives me this proud sly smirk) !

To order a Nexus 9 or not to order a Nexus 9....

I don't know.

I did have a Samsung Tab S 10.5 for a short time. Returned it for a Chromebook, Asus C200. Does everything a tablet can for my uses and is 1/2 the cost. No more crappy rendered mobile sites, you'd think with 2560x1600 a tablet wouldn't have that issue. Yup, I requested desktop version as well.

Except screen resolution, a few media files not playing and a direct file manager connection to my 3TB NAS its a good little system. This not connecting to the NAS is a bit of a pain, I'll try and find a Linux distro to replace ChromeOS entirely. If that doesn't work then I'll decide from that point.

I don't really want a chromebook though.

The Nexus 9 would be perfect for filling the gaps when or where I can't use my laptop(which is about to be gone for some time as I am having it RMA'd).
