Root [ROM][UNOFFICIAL][4.4.4] DeCAF Cyanogenmod 11, Release 1

The screen takes foreeeeever to lock while in a call, resulting in me pulling away at the end of the call to find myself in the middle of the calendar or some other weird place. Thanks, ear... Also, when the clock is centered in the status bar, it keeps reappearing on the right hand side

What about how you got LTE?
 
It wasn't working that great, I switched back to 3g. But if you want to try, here's what I did:

Google "universal boost APN fix" (or whatever network you're on) and you should find a zip file through XDA forums. Flash that in recovery. Then Google the correct MMS proxy settings, go into your default SMS app (I use Textra), find MMS settings and set them according to your service. After that, LTE should work.

However

It acted weird for me. I could get online and use web browser, play store, etc. but texting was still a little wonky
 
So i did it guys. I got a moto e on boost mobile on the $30 unlimited talk text and 2gb plan. I finally ditched virgin mobile, but im not ditching my volt. Ill keep throwing builds out from time to time seeing if stuff is fixed, but I just wont be able to test data, calling or sending sms/mms. This means ill have to have you guys do that for me.

Thank you for being a great community, and ill keep trying to do what i can here and there.
 
If you don't mind me asking, why switch to that particular phone? It's kind of a step down from the volt, in all honesty. About the same specs except the chipset is snapdragon 200, instead of the volts 400

Maybe so he can mod the volt without worry of important phone calls or messages that he may miss
I know that feeling.
 
First it was only $60 lol, build quality is excellent, there really is a noticeable difference between the SD 400 and the SD 410 (this is the moto e 2015 LTE with 64 bit quad core SD 410, the 3g model that I don't have has the SD 200 chip set.) Plus the fact that ill actually get updates and have a device and vendor tree from Motorola to work with. The only things I miss are the led ring and the camera flash, other than that this phone is a step up.

Oh yeah, and basically stock android without custom Roms needed. I didn't have to remove many apps when I rooted to have a pleasant experience with a stock ROM.

How is development going on the Moto E ? I was going to get the Moto E originally but Best Buy did not have any in stock so I went with the LG Volt. I've been looking for a device with a lot of development going on.

Best bet is XDA and search for Moto E. I have seen alot of useful posts for that specific device.

How much shorter? The kernel in this overclocks the processor, which will use more power. Try going into the performance settings and turning down the clock speed and/or switching to a different governor.

In every GApps package, the playstore kept crashing over and over. I did a clean flash without flashing any GApps and used a backup from my CyanogenMod account. Sorry, I know you want a link but none of the packages worked for me :/
 
This is a completely stock kernel, no over clocking at all.

Also, the moto e has some decent dev stuff going on, a custom kernel, twrp and a cm12 rom with a few things working.

On another note, the e broke on me. Just stopped turning on, so I took it back before work and bought another volt to use on boost. I should have just got a volt to begin with. It was a decent phone, but too much bezel and I'm not a huge fan of lollipop. Getting it rooted and xposed installed was a pain in the nuts, where its easy as hell here for us on the volt.

The volt is the nicest phone with the most features on boost and virgin unless you get an s4 or s5. You don't realize how much you miss knock on, led notifications and a camera torch led until you roll with a phone without them, which is why the volt is king for what it costs.

My boost volt is going to remain bone stock with root, and my virgin volt is a now dedicated dev phone that I'll flash whatever I feel like on it. That should allow me to work a little faster on custom ROMs since I don't have to worry about borking my daily driver phone.
 
I used to own a moto g (xt1031) and I loved the development on it (that and I could run water on it and it wouldn't get borked) but no LTE. I got this volt and ported all the info for it. I suck as a dev but love to help as a tester. So if any future devolpment going on I would love to help. I may not be able to give full results b/c of xposed and lucky patcher though (over at xda they preferred stockish bugs over flashed bugs) so what I'm getting at is hopefully there will be a derivative of this in lollipop and I'm keeping subscribed to this and 12.1 to see what needs to be done. @whoshotjr2006 thank you for not giving up on this thread. You have saved a few of us from not ultimately losing our camera (aside from other things) :)

Sorry to ROM thread jump, but any possibilities for Omni updates? Easily my second favorite ROM for the volt
