Bit O trivia. ABBA's debut on American Bandstand was Nov 15 1975. I remember it well for I was sitting in the waiting room at the local hospital. I was waiting to see my wife who was being prepped to give birth to our first child. Not at all important.. just funny how such a memory would linger after that many years.

That's because there's no action without an equal and opposite reaction - at one end of the spectrum, your firstborn - at the other... :D

4G speed, but, we've had a whacked morning. My diabetes attacked with a vengeance yesterday, and, due to too much activity - I'm in paralytic agony today.

No street music for this guy. Tomorrow, I'll give it 110%.

Having mobility problems has become an @$$ ache. I wish that I never went under the knife for back surgeries. I'm seriously considering a lawsuit.

Now, we're at the Department of Social Services... gad.

She turned her paperwork on time, via mail...

But, this is North Carolina. Great to visit, but to live here... it's like going for a ride on H.G. Well's Time Machine... backward.

Detours. Traffic lights out in Downtown Smithfield... what else can go wrong today?

My rant. For what it's worth. LW

The Dutch interwebz were down shortly today. The Amsterdam internet exchange (main hub in backbone) was down. Can't remember that happening ever before.

Today I logged into my credit card account from work, & since I'd recently cleared my history & such there, it popped up a window saying "we don't recognize this pc, pick one of the numbers & methods below for us to call or text you a validation code to prove you're really you". The list of possible numbers included both an old home number & an old work number - I haven't had either for at least 4 years & neither are actually in my cc account profile, so I sent the company an email (it's a big, well known US cc company) to ask them to remove those numbers from wherever the heck they reside in my account.

I got a reply from them, they don't see those numbers associated with my account either, so they told me to contact their Tech Support dept. Seriously??? They came from SOMEWHERE & even the customer service people can't see them.

Change password and info. Call company. Check for Malware. There are free online scans. Panda has one. You can ask Bleeping Computer.

Seems like overkill. The old numbers are mine, its just dumb that they're somehow embedded too deep for me or customer service to get at & remove.

(And I do scans regularly.)

Bank CS is fun. I just had to call in an cancel my debit card because some subhuman filth stole my info and went on a shopping spree....leaving me with a declined card while on a date.

My wife is still fighting VISA. They put the money back in her account 2 months ago, investigated and pulled it back out last week with no notification. Apparantly she has magical powers where she can make purchases simultaneously for $20 in the US and $1,000 in Germany, even though there is a debit limit of $500 on the account.

Wow! I had problems with someone making purchases on my bank card a couple years ago but nothing like you guys are mentioning. What a pain!

That's what scares me. I know that realistically the bank sides with the customer 99% of the time(having been on the retail side of the coin and getting scammed by customers), but I am worried that they will decide that this wasn't fraud. All the transactions were local, one was at an auto parts store which is not too unusual for me. The large tab from the bar will be unusual, as I don't drink.

I was really lucky with my issue, something like $1200 was charged to my card, at a local electronics store. But mine wasn't even a credit card, it was done on my checking account & my debit card was still with me! Thankfully my credit union actually called me right away to say they thought it was suspicious activity (I don't know how they could even know in this case, but they did) & I just had to go in & fill out a form confirming it wasn't me, & they put the missing money back into my account. Good thing or I wouldn't have been able to pay my rent that month!

Hopefully you guys get these issues resolved without too much more trouble, I feel for you. I hate it when I hear about stupid crooks doing stuff like this!
