Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Hang in there, andruoid... I'm finally getting my insulin tomorrow, so, I have an idea where you're at healthwise.

Keep the positive vibes going, and don't let the unnecessary life-crap overwhelm you. Due to my PTSD, anxiety and depression, I get blind-sided all of the time.

Hence, some really weird rants that some people here find uncomfortable to respond to, and - I have to write this:

What may be your 'norm', may not be someone else's. Whatever 'normal' is.

I send encouragement to kct1975, because ANYTHING that has to with the US Gov't should have a large banner that reads:

"Hurry up, and Wait"

Wish me weather luck in tomorrow's travels. Street music is all that I'm able to do right now, and the money is needed. :)

Deceitful YouTube posters. I wanted to listen to "Kiss" by Prince and got some kind of Rock song with a picture of Price above it.

Isn't that just an old trick, except the pranksters aren't using him any more.

IMO if YouTube is your main source of musics, you may need to look somewhere else.

I should have been more specific. I wanted to watch the music video of Kiss. YouTube is the place to go for those. I have the entire Prince Discography on my MicroSD card. Not one Rick Astley song amazingly.

?
Youtube is an amazing source for music.

Very rarely steers me wrong, and has almost literally anything you can think of. Using Chromecast or the YouTube app on my "smart" tv and listening through my sound system is like having a jukebox of all the music in the world. I love it.

I don't like the weatherman's buzzword of the year. Last year he apparently learned the word "swath" (which I know is a word, but it's a weird word), because he started using it multiple times in each weather forecast. This year it's all about either "popcorn showers" or "popup showers" - both of which don't make any sense to me, & I roll my eyes every time I hear him say one of those things. I've never seen it rain popcorn, although that would be pretty cool!

P.S. Googling images for "popup shower" shows it's a small camping tent that's used for showering. Do you think he means those might fall from the sky?? o_O :p

So my new sim card is supposed to arrive today. I included my office suite # on the shipping information, but it looks like ST might have left it off the actual shipping label.

Guess we'll see if I get it.

Meanwhile my phone had to be shipped to a confirmed paypal address, which excluded my office. That means I'm relying on my 60 yr old roommate who spends all day in his room to hear the door and sign for it. He doesn't hear so swell.....

So, I installed Stylish for Firefox so that I can use Facebook on my laptop (Firefox + KDE makes for some painful problems like white text on a white background...), which is fine-- I found a dark style which does not hurt my eyes (I am dark-adapted and white is not eye-friendly to me).

Unfortunately, the internet is in love with white. And current color scheme for android forums is white-heavy. But no one has built any alternative Stylish profiles for android forums. I really don't want to learn how to build a Stylish profile.

Is it really that hard to find the original version of Saturday Night at the Movies - The Drifters?

It's all contemporary recordings like using session musicians that sound nothing like the original, or teribble live versions that are mostly crowd noise, or friggin' KTV/karaoke versions.

Rock in Rio was nearly 300 bucks a person this year for Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars...
In 1991 I saw Nirvana, Hole, Iggy Pop and The Offspring for $15 bucks and a 2 drink minimum...
WTH happened? Lol

I wouldn't pay $3 to go see those two.

I would not go see them if you gave me the tickets, and paid me $300.
Well, ticket scalpers exist for a reason. I'm sure someone would have been (stupid) desperate enough to gladly buy them.

I'm on a couple of dating sites, one of them has a "swipe to like" feature. Apparently I swiped right on a guy who had also swiped right on me, because the site sent me a message saying "you like each other!". A couple days went by, he didn't contact me so I sent him a message, he replied back saying he didn't think we were a match. So out of curiosity I asked what made him think that, when we haven't even met yet? He said he isn't attracted to me.

OK, that's fine, but then why the heck did you swipe to "like" me??? Idiot (no, I didn't say that to him, I just wished him good luck). I hate the whole flipping dating process!!!:confused:

He sounds like a user trolling for someone needy to victimize. Meh, they're everywhere.

Hang in there and best luck!

I think today was the most brutal day yet. I had the ac and swamp cooler running in tandem. NVEnergy is going to send me a thank you card.
