River, or anyone more knowledgeable than I,

Why do you think it has two WiMAX antennas? I know from CDMA they have the 850, and 1900 - but for WiMAX they have two in there -- one is bigger and takes more power than the other...

EDIT: Also, I don't use bluetooth, so excuse my ignorance, but is it the usual case to not be able to WiFi and bluetooth simultaneously?

Let me try to explain. First I can not type two day, broke my hand. So bear with me

"Which means you can use the wimax, wifi, and phone all at the same time."

Simply means that you can talk on the phone and play online video game on your pc, with hotspot, all at the same time.

"IT will also do mimo 2x2. Will also do 5 and 10mhz bands."

This is means that it can send and receive information on both at the same time.

For example. Let say that you are playing a online video game. And your friend wants to surf the web. The phone can us one radio to one tower to send and receive the game info, and the second radio to a second tower for the web surfing. This means that your connection to the game will not lag and he will not slow down. It basically will give you two wimax cards, each doing their own thing.

Voice and 3G? This is very, very, very surprising, since no other CDMA phone on the planet can do this. They are sending voice over WiMax? Or does Voice+3G work only when the voice is VoIP?

Ugh I don't think River put it any more complicated than this:

Voice and 3G EVDO are on the same radio and therefore can not be used at the same time.

4G WiMAX is a separate radio so voice and 4G is a yes

Wifi is also its own radio so the same applies.

First, in most cases, the wimax is consuming half the power of the cdma radio. Good for battery life.

But this could be bad.

So the EVO running on 4G could possibly save battery as opposed to it running on 3G? What's the bad part?

It could be something or nothing. The total watt output of the cdma radio is lower then I would thought it would.

This could mean a weak radio, bad reception, but also could be they improved spectrum efficiency, allowing for lower wattage to carry the same distance.

For example, htc incredible is alot higher at 407.

It could be nothing, but it could mean a weak cdma radio.

The phone is great power wise. I am sure that they just installed the last and greatest radio that reduces power and increases range.

The phone is great power wise. I am sure that they just installed the last and greatest radio that reduces power and increases range.

Well I hope it's not a weak radio, HTC phones have been having some issues with stuff like that lately (N1 and Incredible) so hopefully the Evo isn't another phone that has network problems. The N1 had that issue and still does for many dropping 3G and going to edge and the incredible has issues showing it's only getting like 1 or 2 bars when other phones in the same spot get full bars.

Sorry to hear 'bout your hand, River, but just think how great it will be to have an EVO with voice-to-text! (Although, I'm not sure if that works for internet since I'm an Android newb).
