Root [GUIDES] OneClickRoot | v10J Flashable ROM | Unbrick Guide

I bought mine saturday with 5.1.1 os ver 10d. I haven't rooted, but put on fotakill to stop any updates. I haven't taken any goggle updates. Did put all my root needed stuff in place but haven't tampered with it or broke warranty. If anyone knows why i shouldn't proceed share some wisdom with me. I'm not in much of a hurry and welcome any suggestons or ideas.

It's one of the most reputable hosts around. Try a different browser or download it on your phone then transfer it to your pc. It's a small 3mb dload.
 
Got it finally,I disabled my Adblockers & by about the 20th try,it went through.
As for your suggestion of d/l via mobile,I do that w/other d/l,especially flashable zips.but,was hoping there was a fix for the AFH doing this (on Chrome desktop),It happens a lot.
Flashing update now,been @ 15% for about 5 minutes.......

Sounds like you might have a dns issue. Most dns provided by isps' suck and don't resolve all domain names properly. I had to switch mine to "google dns" which are the largest around. This might be your issue. I takes about 2 minutes to change in your router settings. "8.8.8.8" "8.8.4.4"

Another simple solution is to use a vpn like "hola vpn plugin" for chrome browser(free). I use PIA vpn(private internet access) $40/year and during regular browsing I use google dns.

Both these solutions will open up access to more websites, while the vpn will give access to content from other countries as well and also provide other benefits.

I've been trying to flash the MPCS update w/the flash tool for about an hour or so now & it keeps hanging @60% (analyzing phone setting).
I also see two other. kdz files (RA.kdz) 1kb & (Rc.kdz) 49kb. Do I include them?
On the phone,it's @ the Firmware Update page reading 0%.
Any ideas,or am I just being impatient?
BTW,I uninstalled all previous & newer LG Drivers & used the link given,same results.

RA.kdz and Rc.kdz are part of LG flash tool to work properly. They are not flashed on the phone.

No idea for now. Maybe uninstall drivers then reboot pc and afterwards plug phone to pc and let it install its own drivers and try those instead.

The kdz flashes quickly within 10 minutes. I used windows 10, but should work down to win 7.

I just updated the LG drivers to v3.14.1 from v3.11.3. The new drivers have better compatibility with windows 10. Give those a try and see if you have better luck.

Same result,hanging @ 60% (analyzing phone setting) (0% on Firmware Update screen on phone).
Do I need to unroot before applying this update?

No need to unroot.

Try this... Instead of putting phone in download mode, don't. Just leave it plugged in to PC while on and proceed with the guide. LG flash tool will reboot the phone on its own into download mode and flash the kdz. Lets see if that helps.

I'll try w/the phone both on & off see if either works.......
I even went so far as to try with a battery pull while plugged-in last night,just to see if anything would work.

Alright,I tried something different,as it continued to act the same,hanging @ 60% (analyzing phone setting)
Following on your last suggestion,the phone rebooted & was doing the same,hanging @ the 1st step.
I switched back & forth between MTP & PTP,seems to have triggered the update(step 3,phone icon @ top of Mobile support tool),but,it's hanging @ 5% for about 8 minutes now.
Can't tell if phone is actually getting it or not as the phone is currently on.
Will keep you posted..................

I'm not averse to reverting back to out-of -box & attempting to flash the latest kdz,if that's possible/if you think that may be best/easiest way to update.
Gonna take a break for a couple hours or so........

Hmmm I'm out of ideas for now...

I remember you telling me that "LG root tool" wasn't working for you either and you had to use KingRoot instead back on 5.0.2. It seems like your win install is not playing nice with the LG tools we have. If by any chance you have access to a diff PC maybe give that a try.

If I come up with any new ideas I'll post back.
 
Not ATM.
Just one PC @ home (W 8.1) , work PC's(W7) are locked down, don't allow most exe's/etc....
Not a biggie, just wanted to update, I'll try again in a few days or so, sooner if you think of something else to try.
 
@GameTheory Hey bro if I factory reset do i have to do root again.?
I was messing around with ninjamorph.. N now nav its not responding right... Hum n menu are off plus notification bar its not showing beside setting

A factory reset will only wipe data so you should be fine (root is on system). I'm not sure though if that will fix your problem since I don't use ninja morph. You might have to restore your twrp backup.
