Bro, all of our s3's say secureboot enabled. The bootloader is not locked. You really should verify things before you post them as fact. There are new members who search keywords, and then they read something like this that clearly is not true.

Where are you getting this stuff? Secureboot enable means your bootloader is locked? No it does not.

It's because you've made a few incorrect assumptions. I have a coworker who has one. I just helped him flash twrp, then a custom rom. So when I saw you struggling with bad info, I thought you would want correct info. And i dont want others to read wrong information without seeing the correct. I've never seen someone reject knowledge so vehemently.

My phone which is rooted and has TWRP recovery says "secure boot enabled" when I boot into download mode. @Madbat is 100% correct. The bootloader is not locked.

This thread if a joke I feel sorry for any new user who stumbles across this rubbish.
 
Its locked with secureboot just like verizon is. Your under the impression that every bootloader is unlocked on the galaxy s3 but AT&T and Verizon both have locked bootloaders. Theres no proof to suggest that they didnt use their secure msm technology in it. Its closed source its secure.
 
For the educated users who read this thread and have the sph-l710t on virgin Mobile data done right, please disregard this users posts (waitingtogetskyrim2). Your bootloader is not locked, and your phone is not some super secret closed source device. You can follow all existing development, and enjoy a rooted device if you want. I may have to lock this thread.

Yes I'm well aware the Verizon SCH-i535 boot loader is locked. However the boot loader on the SPH-L710T isn't. Have you even tried to root your S3? If you can flash TWRP it's not locked. BTW even on a Nexus you'll see Secure boot enabled, even after unlocking the bootloader. The lock state is the following line, which your phone doesn't have.

Edit: It seems to me you're under the impression your phone has a locked bootloader even though you haven't even tried to root it. Therefore you can't even confirm that it actually is or isn't. Just because it says secure boot enabled doesn't mean much. Just look at the Nexus 5 pic below.

If i could get into service mode id prove it ive spent a day trying to hack into the secret menu. Theres no fastboot to check in even though some galaxy s4 has fastboot. What makes you think theyd release closed source software without locking it down. Its not open source so its code is not open. Every other data done right phone has a locked bootloader.

Stock system roms are rarely ever open source, the kernel is. Even then Samsung likes to release broken/incomplete source. And again, I literally flashed twrp, rooted a DDR triband s3 three days ago (maybe 4).

Ive got my eyes on this if i get it im donating this galaxy s3 once i take my accounts off it. Can do more with a nexus.

Found this one for $250 its factory unlocked same price as this galaxy s3. Im going to T-mobile cause they have official marshmallow and some kernels and roms for the nexus 6 on xda.

I have 2 galaxy s3 to give away when the time is right. A regular virgin mobile l710 and date done right l710t. Theres a lot of development for the nexus 6 this should be fun since this galaxy s3 will never get official marshmallow from Samsung.
 
Was on the phone yesterday with data done right customer service to see if their going to bring hotspot to single line plans. From how it sounded their not supporting it on single line plans and they want you to have 2 lines or more. I did find something out that was interesting to me, he said you can have 2 lines for $65 and you wouldnt even need the 2nd phone, you could just have 2 line plan and get it. $65 a month which isnt bad iam paying $75 a month and get free hotspot.
 
Is there any actual confirmation that says you can flash a custom recovery. This phones been out for months and i dont see anyone trying to install roms or root or install recovery. This phone uses the virtual network technology itson and itson is baked into the rom all over the place ramdisk, vender, and carrier and a few other places. I think cause the account uses itson technology youd need a rom with itson technology support and itson service apk so you can manage your accounts. I have yet to see or hear confirmation that says otherwise.
