My guess on the touch response part is that WinMo 6.5 never truly supported capacitive touch and HTC made its own interface to get it to work. the evo will not have this issue.
I thought that too, but the dev for Bitbank that makes a great multi-game emulator for WM bought one and mentioned the issue appears to be the actual hardware sensors. He was trying to get the response time improved to make games more playable with his emu app, but could not even do it at the lower hardware level.
Even if the EVO was on Verizon, I would not get it due to the size. It gets REAL old trying to use the HD2 for one hand function. Big hands or long fingers- perhaps no problem. For most, one hand operation equals high chance for dropping. You wild and crazy EVO'rs have been warned

thats why they extended my 30 day exchange period. Atleast my phone is usable right now I would be extremely p***ed if my phone was dead. Hopefully no one runs into that issue.
