Carrier discussions are useless and stupid.
It all depends on where you live, work, and travel. Every carrier is strong in some places, and weak in others. User experiences can even differ within the same city, since tower placement will vary.
My Incredible call quality is incredibly poor.

Sprint can roam on verizons network but not for 3g data.As good as the Incredible is, the Evo will probably be a better phone. As others mentioned, the lack of reviews make it a bit more difficult to make the judgment. Sprint's network, while much better than it was, is not on the same level as VZW. That will be the biggest downside. Someone might be able to correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Sprint leases network time from VZW. My understanding is that if you are a Sprint customer on VZW's network time, you only get 2G, not 3G. There are others on here more knowledgeable than me on this, so perhaps someone else will chime in on this point. If you are willing to give there, the Evo is probably a better device and the service will be less costly as well...
Personally, I love my Incredible and am very happy I got it. I love VZW's network as well, so I wouldn't switch.
My Incredible call quality is incredibly poor. Verizon can't replace it because the phone is backordered until after my 30-day return window has gone by. With the volume of complaints about call quality, I am not certain that a replacement phone will resolve the issue, and don't want to lose the ability to return it. Other than that, it is a fantastic phone. If I didn't have to make voice calls, it would be brilliant.
This is the only reason I started looking at the Evo.. although I am sure the chance of the same radio being used is very high.

tell me the point of a better phone if you can't use it in most areas.

AMOLED vs TFT, big difference
I'm glad someone mentioned this, because I deliberately left it off my list of pros for either phone. Each screen tech has unique advantages and disadvantages such that neither is obviously superior.
The Incredible's AMOLED screen is bright, more power efficient, and displays better black depth. However, it is barely usable in sunlight, and it has a noticeable pinkish hue.
The EVO's screen displays a truer white, and is usable outside. It uses slightly more power, and it does not render black shades as crisp.
Having used both techs recently (Incredible, Storm) I'd say its a very close call. The AMOLED screen is probably better in normal usage, but the inability to use it in sunlight is am unavoidable nuisance.
Also, to every knocking my listing of the EVO's kickstand: learn to laugh a little bit. Obviously no one buys a phone because of something like that. It is interesting to note, however, that there are people who clearly miss the absence of a kickstand on the Incredible:

Look, I think its great that Verizon sticks a tower in every Bubblefrick on the map. People who live in Bubblefrick should be able to use cell phones (or "Devil's Walkie-Talkies" as they call them).
I however, don't care because I'm not going to Bubblefrick .... ever.

I never thought battery life would be touted as a pro for the incredible..

If you are buying the EVO for 4G, hope you are in an area that has it and forget about using it once on the road (unless within the city's area that has it). By the time 4G is covering their entire 3G area, the "EVO 4" will be out with even better stuff
I have used the HD2 and own an Inc, so at least appreciate a few things:
1. Unless you have big hands/long fingers EVO will be hard to use for one hand operation and VERY easy to drop if you try. Be careful
2. Touch sensors on the HD2 are inferior in response time to the Inc. Perhaps updated for EVO?
3. 1gb rom on EVO is actually weaker than the Incredible. Inc uses the 512mb rom for the OS and stock apps and 748mb for app storage (this is why only 6.6gb free for built-in). EVO will probably have less storage, out of the box. My guess is 100mb less.
4. 1500mah battery is offset due to the bigger screen. No advantage.
5. 1500mah is way too low if you plan on using 4G much at all.
6. Data and calls at same time is only for 4G, which is sparse coverage, at best.
The biggie though is the network itself. 4G is only partial coverage in the cities it currently is in and their 3G coverage is a small fraction of Verizon's.
Things to look for with EVO users:
1. Battery complaints in 4G areas
2. Touch screen responsiveness (if sensors not corrected from HD2)
3. Heat complaints when outputting a real 720p signal to an external display. The formfactor is too small to cover the needed heat dissipation for 720p.
Dude, you are obviously pro-Evo and pro-Sprint, so why drag this thread out? You are going to get an Evo on Sprint. We are happy for you.
