Pros & cons: Htc incredible vs evo

My guess on the touch response part is that WinMo 6.5 never truly supported capacitive touch and HTC made its own interface to get it to work. the evo will not have this issue.

I thought that too, but the dev for Bitbank that makes a great multi-game emulator for WM bought one and mentioned the issue appears to be the actual hardware sensors. He was trying to get the response time improved to make games more playable with his emu app, but could not even do it at the lower hardware level.

Even if the EVO was on Verizon, I would not get it due to the size. It gets REAL old trying to use the HD2 for one hand function. Big hands or long fingers- perhaps no problem. For most, one hand operation equals high chance for dropping. You wild and crazy EVO'rs have been warned ;)

I also like the extra bulit-in storage space on Inc :)

The internal storage will become a plus once developers start rewriting their programs to take advantage.

I started out with all my music, photos, and videos on internal memory. I thought this was wonderful because my sd card was wide open for app storage needs, documents, etc.

Then I upgraded to the 3D gallery app, and had to move all my photos back over to the sd card.

Then I upgraded to the A1 video player, and had to move all my videos back over to the sd card.

Then I upgraded to cubed music player, and had to move all my music back over to the sd card.

Now my internal memory is basically empty and unused.

No mine= loaded with MP3's with a few hundred megs for stock app needs :)

Extra space allowed me to load more tunes on the Inc, along with the microdsd :)

The EVO has the same digitizer as the Incredible not the HD2, so not an issue.

Ehhh..I don't really see the point in switching to sprint for something that will be considered outdated in 6 months... my sister has sprint and she hates it we can never finish a damn conversation without the call being dropped , out of all the Verizon phones I had I have only gotten one dropped call..these are just phones guys none of them will bring Jesus back to life..

My Incredible call quality is incredibly poor. Verizon can't replace it because the phone is backordered until after my 30-day return window has gone by. With the volume of complaints about call quality, I am not certain that a replacement phone will resolve the issue, and don't want to lose the ability to return it. Other than that, it is a fantastic phone. If I didn't have to make voice calls, it would be brilliant.

This is the only reason I started looking at the Evo.. although I am sure the chance of the same radio being used is very high.

I agree, would if the EVO has bad call quality also? If thats the case I'm throwing in the towel on HTC until they correct the problem! Might have to give the 4th gen iphone a look if the reviews on the EVO include any bad call quality issue complaints! Funny thing is that Verizon will not even agree to be having any issues at all with the phone.

King? I get a half day out of my incredible...There both garbage when it comes to battery use.

Some kings die quick!

I have the same battery issue and I am getting a replacement sent out.

I was getting frusterated hearing how some people were getting anywhere from 16 to 30 hours of battery without having to do the triple charge thing while the phone is off.

Even if the replacement doesnt fix the battery issue it will hopefully get rid of the dust behind the screen issue i have on my current one.

Good luck with that replacement, VZW is stating that nothing will be shipped out until the 26th of May because of high demand.

I know :( thats why they extended my 30 day exchange period. Atleast my phone is usable right now I would be extremely p***ed if my phone was dead. Hopefully no one runs into that issue.

My dad just Ran into it! Phone is un-usable. No new phones until the 26th!

Hope you get that in writing.

she put notes on my account and read back exactly what she put on there.

If i run inot any issues then I will be getting hte Evo and dropping VZ.

I dont blame them for being low on stock because this phone is sweet and i can see why they are selling quickly.

Not to get too involved but I had the option of leaving Verizon recently for an Iphone but the Incredible convinced me to stay, and I seem to have a few of my Iphone friends ready to jump ship. Android really became the convincing factor for many of them, it took time but its coming into fruition.

On topic however the phone I was replacing was my HTC Imagio, which was just too large. I recommend anyone thinking of getting a larger screen phone to put it in your pocket for the day and see how it feels, you may think its much too large to drag around with you all the time. The Imagio had the wow factor, but the size was just too much in the end, the Incredible was a lot more convenient.

Truth be told though, I think the EVO will be even more of a battery hog based on:

AMOLED uses less power than a TFT for the same level of brightness. Add on top of this that this TFT is even bigger than the AMOLED on the Inc.

This could be offset by the lower power usage of WiMax but that's only if you live in a city that support it and only if voice traffic will also always go over WiMax.

Both are phones first and foremost. Verizon has the better network, period. Game over.

Network is more about where you are. If you had said they have a bigger network I would give you that but better is subjective and depends on where you live.

I think there should be two seperate threads about this and then the fighting would stop :)

One should be, what phone is better and another should be what phone would you rather have.

The Evo is obviously speced better but some people dont want it because of network and size.

Evo is too big to fit in your pocket. HUGE deal killer

I was not aware we had a visitor from the Land of Tiny Pockets! Welcome to our forum!

Uhhh, no one tell you that the Sprint phones roam on Verizon's towers for free? No difference in phone service.

Data roaming is slower if you're using a Sprint phone on a Verizon tower though.

Thanks but I have used the HD2 before and its WAY too big to carry around every where. Its just such a pain to take along with you. Almost feels like Im carrying around a small tablet laptop. It just a pain.
